Intriguing read - great world building - slow build up
A slow build to the story line but I like where it's headed. It follows the life of a private detective who works specifically for people who are cybernetically enhanced. Great world building. Gave it 4 stars because I'd say it has potential to be great, but volume 1 doesn't hook you right away, its more like it makes you curiously walk towards it. if that makes sense.

Loved it
Just love the whole world, the characters; the concept of the Extended. The evil corporation and the sub characters just trying to get by.

Inui Juzo is Philip Marlowe with a gun for a head!
Inui Juzo reminds me a bit about Raymond Chandler's Philip Marlowe. Interesting to see how the story progressess. I'm not a fan of the sci-fi genre but the mystery around the main character, the mystery is fantastic.

Dark and gritty, but not much else going on.
No guns life feels like someone got drunk and decided 'hey, what if instead of detectives using guns, they WERE the guns?! (mind blown)'. This series combines elements from film noir and science fiction to create something that is attention grabbing, but not necessarily memorable.During the war, humanity created artificial robotic body parts to supplement the human body. These parts have now become available to the general public, and people that have them are called 'extended'. Standard sci-fi stuff, nothing to stand out yet. However, some people have had much more cybernetic parts added then others. The story follows one such 'over-extended' name Juzo Inui, a man with a gun for a head.Honestly, other than the weird looking main character, there wasn't much I could enjoy in this volume. There's an evil corporation, Juzo fights representatives of it, they run away, repeat a few times. It has a dark aesthetic, but it's not something that would look unfamiliar to someone who watched Blade Runner. I don't really plan to continue with this series.

Blade Runner vibes throughout
This was awesome. The book is massive for a first volume and the ending wraps everything together nicely but has definitely got me intrigued for volume 2. The artwork is nice and the characters augmentations are all very different. I had Blade Runner vibes the whole way through and can’t wait for volume 2.
