Work great with Jet, do what they're supposed to do.
Great replacement bottles for our Jet Sodastream. It was time to replace our bottles, not because of the expiration date on them (what IS that about? I figured if they keep holding their fizz and don't leak I'll keep using them, and we did, for 2 or 3 years past our original bottles expirations, we're rebels, cheap n thrifty rebels I tell ya)Annnnnnyways, they were getting cloudy looking and generally harder to clean so we recycled the old bottles and purchased a set of these, the black capped/bottomed ones in case that's important. I read some reviews where people mentioned leaking when they carbonated water, this didn't happen...in fact I double checked on Sodastream before purchasing these to make sure they do in fact fit our older (maybe original model?) Jet. They do!The only time I've ever had water leak is if I over filled past the line and wasn't paying attention, easy enough to do. Also being smaller bottles they carbonated faster so maybe others were over filling over carbonating? I dunno, I'm not psychic yet.Annnnnnnyways (again) these have been great. Clear, clean, working just as they should.p.s. I've had the smaller sized bottles before, they are terrific. They are especially nice for carbonating a nice icy water before heading out to the hottt hottt summer air. No flavours or sweetness needed, cold, fizzy water, refreshing!

Solid, fit car's cup holders, and has a nice sized neck for drinking from.
My wife and I use these BPA-free bottles for regular drinking water rather than with the Soda Stream carbonizer. We like the size; they fit nicely in cup holders in the car. These are very strong-walled, so won't bend or break if dropped. The opening, while larger than a soda bottle, is still a nice size to drink from as opposed to some of the wide mouth ones that inevitably result in that embarrassing double sided dribble running down both sides of your chin when you tip the bottle up too far. That sort of thing normally happens only at either a moment capable of significant embarrassment or when wearing that shirt or blouse that shows every water droplet. With these bottles, that doesn't happen, so the clumsy among us can feel secure in their choice of drinking vessel.

good size
It's like the 1 liter is too big and the 0.5 liter is too small for how long it takes me to finish it. The 0.5liter I seem to go through very quickly (a good thing for hydration) but the one liter I pour more slowly. Whatever. These two bottles sit with cold water for a bit in the fridge before I CO2 them as cold water holds more gas. I've just found over time how much time to pull the co2 handle for the gas level I want. Then back into the fridge to let them settle down some before drinking. I'm probably wasting some co2 and wish they was some other way since it seems like a lot of co2 is lost when I unscrew the bottle but it works for now. Wish they were cheaper as two 0.5l bottles are the same price as the two 1l bottles. Oh well.

Smaller size = better carbonation
One of my complaints about the large one-liter bottles that come with the SodaStream (and of which I bought an additional four bottles!) is that the carbonation completely disappears by the time one can drink the entire liter. The last half the soda is flat, flat, flat. These 0.5-liter, BPA-free bottles help solve that problem. Because they are smaller, and therefore hold an appropriate amount of soda that can be consumed in a reasonable amount of time, the soda stays carbonated the entire time these bottles are in use.In addition, because these bottles are smaller, it is easier to find neoprene sleeves to fit these bottles (it is far more difficult to find neoprene sleeves to fit the one-liter bottles).Another "perk" of these bottles is that they actually fit in car cupholders (unlike their one-liter counterparts).I have found that the colder the water is when carbonated, the more effectively it can be carbonated. I have also found that it works best to use syrups that have been refrigerated prior to use. These two steps help keep the soda crisp and tasty.

About 6 months of usage on the first bottle filling it 5 days a week.
I purchased this item on October 28, 2015. After that I probably filled it once a day regularly 5 days a week with a few missed fills. Yesterday (April 19th, 2016) it hit it's breaking point. I had noticed a crack in the lid but yesterday is when it would no longer seal and the soda water was spurting out of the lid after I had filled and carbonated it. I have not used the other bottle at all so this can hopefully give you a clear timeline on how long they last (approximately 6 months of weekday usage). I guess that life is ok but I kind of expected it to last longer, at least it's a 2 pack.

bottles are OK but two major issues...
The bottles themselves are totally fine, and I much prefer the 500mL size to the 1L bottles that came with the soda maker. at the time i purchased these, my local bed bath and beyond only carried the larger bottles. my two main complaints with these are:1) the bottles are not dishwasher safe. why not? nalgene makes polycarbonate bottles that are BPA-free and dishwasher safe. I assume these bottles contain BPA and that is the reason they cannot be heated in the dishwasher. it's annoying to wash them manually. maybe i've been spoiled by the dishwaher.2) they have an unusually wide lip on the base of the plastic piece adhered to the bottom of the bottle. so despite their smaller total volume, they still do not fit in my car's cupholders.edit: since buying these, iv'e seen that bed bath and beyond now carries a 500mL bottle that is dishwasher safe AND has no lip around the bottom.

mine only lasted 3 months :(
LOVE LOVE LOVE my soda stream machine; on average, I probably use it a little more than once a day. I found myself not wanting a whole liter sometimes, so I bought these little guys. They worked great...until now. I've had my bottle for hardly 3months and I today I pulled my bottle out of my lunch bag, only to find a small amount of water and bubbles spewing out through the plastic cap. I suppose it's possible that I use it more than average and thereby the wear and tear decreased its lifespan, but to go from 3yrs to 3 months seems a bit much for that explanation. Again, I love my soda stream, but if I have to keep replacing the co2 AND the bottles...I may just go back to canned soda water :/
