Q: What output (wattage) is the speaker? is the output halved per speaker when in tws mode?

I don't know the actual wattage but I would estimate 10w RMS. It is not halved with two speakers. One speaker on its own is okay, but having two paired changes the sound completely and gives a really good solid sound. Clarity for the price of 2 is far superior to many major brand single speaker systems at twice the cost.

Q: Disable the start-up & voice prompts? They are so loud they annoy my neighbour!

press + and - toghether for a second or two and it will tell you it's been disabled.

Q: Am i right in understanding that this will not play mp3 music from a usb stick or an sd micro card? thanks.

That’s correct I believe it to only play across Bluetooth it does have an aux port but not sure what u can attach.
