Lovely scent, pretty plant, my cats love to roll on it and snuffle it.
For some reason, the various catnip/catmint seeds I have had from different seed companies have different planting instructions. I have the best luck with germination if I do NOT cover the seeds with soil. They take rather long to germinate so don't give up. I separate the small plants into several pots, so I have at least 3 large terra cotta planters going at a time. My cats love both the dried leaves I pull off the stems, and the fresh leaf tips. If you nip off the tops of each stem when they start to flower, the stems will branch out more and not get all long and scraggley. They bush out more if you cut the tops off. My cats come running when they see me come in the house with this fresh catnip. It keeps growing for over a year if you don't let it go to seed. Be sure to let the soil dry out between waterings if you plant in pots. If I have 2-3 plants in one pot I will let one of them eventually flower, so I can enjoy the pretty pastel blue flowers.

I've had good success growing these seeds using the Jiffy starter pellets
I've had good success growing these seeds using the Jiffy starter pellets. At the present time my catmint plants are indoors. I have cats so I'm careful about what plants I have in my home and in my yard; however, I read that catmint attracts butterflies so I plan to move the catmint plants outdoors after a while to become part of a butterfly garden in my backyard.I'm a novice gardener so when the first group of planted seeds (in 12 Jiffy pellets) took longer than expected to germinate I figured the problem was a result of something I did. I thought perhaps I had covered the seeds with too much soil so I just sprinkled a bit of potting soil over the top of the next group of seeds I planted -- which germinated in about two to three days. Better results. I wish I had read the review by the person who did not cover the seeds with soil at all before I tried growing the seeds, but that's the way it goes. There are many seeds remaining in the seed packet I bought, but I'll wait and see what becomes of the seeds I've planted before I plant any more of them.

Didn’t grow
Despite planting the seeds according to directions and in three different spaces, not one sprouted. Absolutely nothing. I’ve not been able to find catmint at local nurseries so tried the seeds. 😟

Great
They took longer to germinate than I thought they would, but they did come up. I was sent a little baggy filled with seeds so I just sprinkled some into some moist soil and stuck them out in the greenhouse. They seem to grow pretty slow. I'm sure the cats will enjoy them though.

Catmint
I've been looking for this herb, and was excited to find it on Amazon. Maybe it's my location, but not a single seed sprouted. Very disappointed.
