Tetra PLAYMOBIL Explore Your Aquarium 10 Gallon Kit

We are first timers with aquariums. Bought this for my 7 year old son as a prize for doing well in school. We didn't have any trouble putting it together, except for when I was being rushed by him. We forgot to rinse the filters and fill it water before turning the pump on. I am not sure is the pump is adequate. We still don't have any fish in there. The pump is very quiet and my son likes the "white noise" it makes, says it helps him sleep ;) Everything we needed was provided. The fish store recommended a starter bacteria liquid and more water conditioner as our water tested lower pH. The added playmobil toy and scenery to attach to the back of the tank is a wonderful addition! Hardest part of the process has been waiting to get past the "new tank syndrome" to actually get fish to put in there. Nice job Playmobil! It's a great aquarium as far as we can tell.

PUTTING THE TANK TOGETHER, FOLLOWING THE DIRECTIONS, WAS A SNAPE THE PUMP IS VERY QUIET ANDWORKS WILL BUT A LARGER FILTER WOULD DO THE JOB BETTER IN CLEARING THE WATER IN A 10 gal tank.I'm HAPPY WITH IT ALL AND HAVE 4 SMALL FISH IN IT THE TOYS WERE FUN TOO!

I like this set because it comes with basically everything you need for your first aquarium, other than gravel and plants, and the fish, obviously. I took off one star because the instructions for the filter are a bit vague, probably because the instructions for the tank are the same no matter what size, but each size tank gets a different filter. I originally couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong, and why the filter was so loud and wouldn't suck up the water. Turns out I had to overfill the reservoir to start the process going.Anyway, a good starter aquarium set, and the little playmobil guy is a cute addition.

I liked the items included with the package...it makes it very fun to set up.

I have had many aquarium tanks in my lifetime. I have gotten them from garage sales, walmart, etc and I/ have never had a tank leak. The pump started having issues about 3-4 months after purchase. I would not buy this again.Update. The tank is actually not leaking. Onstead it is the water filter that is actually very poor quality. It has been intermittently functioning and caused water to back up and leak out of tank.

The thank its perfect. My complaint is the water filter did not last two weeks working. It was really loud and did not keep the water clean. I had to buy another filter from another brand.

This is a really great starter kit, especially if you have kids! We used this tank and purchased some GloFish tetras from the pet store - my kids loved the different colors. This kit comes with pretty much everything you need to get started.The real bonus though is the playmobil toys. If your kids are like mine, it doesn't matter how simple or complex the toys are, the kids just love getting more toys! The reversible background for the tank is pretty cool too and adds that extra layer of decoration. My only wish is that this kit came with even more decor. I prefer a tank with lots of plants, ornaments, etc. Otherwise, this is great kit, and seems like it could be a great gift item.
