All features work as they should
I was looking for a clock radio to replace my Sony Dream Catcher because the radio station I want to wake up to doesn't come in well with the analog tuner. So I wanted a dual alarm with digital tuner, and the radio had to come on at a normal listening volume, and not rise to full volume as an alarm. Seems like easy enough specs to meet, but very few clocks I looked at seemed to do this. This Timex comes through. The dual alarms can each be either set as radio or alarm, and I can see this as handy to set both as alarms if I really have to make sure I'm up on time. My normal mode is to wake up with radio 1/2 hour before the alarm goes off. The numbers are huge and easy to read. There is a dimmer setting if you don't like it too bright. My room isn't all that dark so I don't know how it is for someone who needs pitch black...maybe throw something opaque over it if it's still too bright but it doesn't seem bad to me.Seems like no alarm clock is totally intuitive how to set, but this one took about 10 seconds of glancing at instructions to see how to set the clock, turn on the alarm, set the alarm time, and change the alarm to radio. It really isn't hard. I don't know what the problem is with the person who gave it a popular 1* review, but they didn't try very hard or don't learn well. RTFM -- Read the Manual. You can easily see which mode you have set to come on, and a blinking dot shows which alarm to turn off--they are on opposite sides of the clock. I'd prefer 24 hour mode to ensure I don't confuse am/pm but there is a dot when PM is on, so no big deal. The digital FM reception is very solid and the sound is good. I also like how both the radio and beeper alarm come on softly at first before rising in volume. If I have any problems with the clock breaking or LED numbers disappearing I'll update the review, but so far it is exactly what I was looking for at a reasonable price.

It tells the time and wakes me up .. it could be better.
It works fairly well, though it does have some issues.Pros: It's larger so it's easier to see. The angle is good for viewing. The controls ARE easy to use IF you read the directions. So those who can't adjust the clock or the alarm are likely the same people who can't set a VCR/DVD/BluRay player. The radio volume ramps up when the alarm turns on and the sound is what you'd expect for a clock radio alarm .. it's enough to wake me, not something I'd want to listen to all day.Cons: The hour button is on the minute side and the minute button is on the hour side. That's just dumb! It makes setting the alarm (especially in the dark) a bit of a challenge. The bright mode is too bright for a bedroom and the dim mode leaves the ends of the led bars too dim. The colon in the middle doesn't have enough space between the digits and can get lost, especially if you need glasses.Nags: There's no DST switch! Why, in the USA today, would a company make a digital clock with no DST switch? To reset the alarm time, you have to scroll all the way through the 24 hour and 60 minute numbers. Other clocks I have allow me to push both the minute and hour buttons at the same time and the alarm resets to midnight. Last .. for the price, it should have a USB port for charging and playing music.

The dim setting is great, easy to program, gradual alarm is sleeper friendly.
I had to replace an atomic clock as it was programmed with the old time zone dates and it would change before the appropriate time. We do good enough remembering when the two DST days are. The old clock had large white digits. It would cast a shine on low. I decided to try a different color, knowing that red and green are good lights when fishing at night. The digits are really large on this clock. At first I started laughing. When I put it on dim, there was no shine cast our at night. Excellent. I can deal with bigger letters and after a week like them. I can see the time easy at night without needing my eyeglasses . The gradual timer is nice. I had this once on bose sound machine that broke. i can't stand a blasting alarm clark. This has a prolonged gradual increase, maybe 12 alarms to the loudest... The radios and alarms are easy to program, just follow the instructions. For accessing programmed channels, you need to cycle through 10 presets. I don't mind as I rarely will use this for a radio. Nice clock.

great clock, easy to see the time from across ...
great clock, easy to see the time from across the room or in the middle of the night, not too bright - red color helps so doesn't wake you up; alarm slowly gets louder so is a little easier to wake. Liked it & ordered another. Not the best quality speakers/sound but is a good size, looks good & works well, good radio reception

Don’t waste your money
A year later I’m throwing in the towel and ordering another alarm clock. This clock has a mind of its own. You know how to change the time and alarm, but with this clock the buttons do not work well. You have to push a button over and over again before it starts blinking for a change. I can’t figure out how to turn the alarm off without a lot of fussing. It is very difficult to reset. I just can’t believe how hard it is to use. I have another Timex, the T715BW3 in another bedroom. I love to find another. It is the perfect clock radio. I have never had a problem with it. It works so well with the dual alarm knobs.

I really like the way it looks and would have given it ...
I have not written a negative review before but I have to about this clock. First off, I really like the way it looks and would have given it 5 stars for that. However, it is extremely difficult to operate and the owners manual is not helpful at all. I was able to set the alarm but I am not able to figure out how to disable an alarm once it has been set. Even unplugging the alarm clock does not clear the settings. If you set the alarm plan on it going off everyday at that time for as long as you own the clock. Every morning the alarm goes off whether I want it to or not. I have never owned any clock that is so difficult to operate.
