Crystal clear even with wrinkles
Product was well packaged and arrived in good shape since it was heavy and awkward. I purchased the 4mm which is very sturdy and does not bend easily in corners so some cutting is necessary. This was definitely a two person job as material was heavy to attach to frame. It would have been nicer if the window sections were square and plumb I wouldn’t have had wrinkles. Still happy with the result as porch is easily 8+ degrees warmer than outside. Plan is to remove frame and vinyl in the Spring roll up and store for next Fall, we will see if it scratches.Overall very pleased.

Heavy gauge, full sized, functional
I bought this for a DIY project, and it's working well. I'm starting to think of it as the duct-tape equivalent of plastic sheeting around my house.

Crystal clear, plenty durable for patio enclosure, great value
I used this to enclose a 16 foot square area underneath my deck, and I am very satisfied with it!After reading awhile, 40 gauge seemed to be the most common recommendation, but I worried that the thicker the vinyl, the less clear it would be, so I got the 30 gauge, and also saved a few dollars. The 30 gauge has proven to be plenty strong after several very windy days. Yet the product was so clear, wrinkle-free and uniform, I think my worry about 40 gauge was unfounded. I used roofing screws with rubber grommets on them and screwed the vinyl right into the 6x6 deck wood supports and 2x4 horizontal supports that I added. Rubber grommet screws help ensure no tearing, even with strong wind force. We don't really get hurricanes or tornadoes here, but a few nights of 35-45mph winds and a few good storms have come through with no problems, both in freezing temperatures and warm nights. A 54-inch tall by 8 foot wide section hangs great as one piece. I thought I might need to add another 2x4 vertical reinforcement in the middle to make it two 4-foot sections, but I don't see any stress from wind, so I'm living it as-is, which helps the space feel more open and gives a better view. Your mileage may vary, depending on the wind. My area is partially sheltered by the shape of the house. This was SO much easier than glass, less expensive, and more durable for a yard with kids -- no worries about stones or balls breaking it. It has stayed clean for several months, despite mowing the lawn around it and kicking up dirt. I hosed it off once, and that's it.Tip: When you first unroll it, it will have a lot of static electricity on the surface that loves to collect dust and dirt. So if you are cutting it to size on a carpet or outside, save the paper overwrap to keep underneath the vinyl as you are cutting it to keep the vinyl clean until you mount it. The static dissipated after the first day and hasn't been a problem since.I ordered more than 1 roll's worth. The vendor cut the extra to my size, and thoughtfully wrapped the extra cut around the standard roll with a ply of paper between. It was heavy, but it shipped fine in a cardboard box. I would certainly order again for another project!

Nice clear and sturdy marine vinyl!
Used this with a lightweight canvas and it sews nicely. Must use a strong needle. Otherwise easy to see through and seems sturdy. Been on my boat now for months without any issues.

This is what you are looking for!
How do I know that? Because I, like you, was looking for something that seemed impossible to find. I tried everything that I could think of - I looked at the plastic things that go under your chair at a desk, way expensive and too small. I looked for the clear plastic that you put down when you are moving and don't want to hurt your carpet or get it dirty. I searched for every kind of carpet protector that I could find, and none of them worked. Nothing worked until now...Then I found this Clear Marine Vinyl - 54"- 40 Gauge plastic, sold by the yard and my search was over. Still, I wasn't sure until it arrived. "What if it was too thin," I wondered. "What if wrinkled or slid around on the carpet?" I thought. I needn't have worried. This WAS the plastic I was looking for!In all seriousness, I was looking for a thin, yet strong, clear plastic to place our ferret cage on - that would allow me to protect my carpet, without making the room look trashy and I needed something that I could walk on, but wouldn't wrinkle and that couldn't easily be punctured or scratched through by my pets.So far, a simple order of three yards has been an outstanding choice and has worked very well. It was easily trimmed to the exact shape I needed, using a razor blade made for cutting carpet. It seems to lay flat on the floor very well. In short, it isn't perfect, but it is pretty outstanding for a wide variety of uses. I'm thrilled beyond belief with this product. Shipping was fast, the plastic was rolled up with paper between the layers so it didn't stick to itself and it is crystal clear and thick and flexible but strong.THANK YOU NICE PEOPLE!

Exactly What We Needed
I bought this product to replace a couple of windows on my power boat that had gotten cracked due to weather and age. The product was exactly what I needed for this project. It was easy to work with and the new windows look fantastic. I would definitely recommend purchasing this for any of your boat projects.
