It works good!!!

Campho-Phenique has been around for many decades, and it's no wonder (my parents used it so I literally grew up with it). It's very good stuff -- a general purpose topical antiseptic useful for insect bites, scrapes, minor burns, as the package says. (I use it, too, to ease pain and avoid infection when one of our cats inadvertently scratches me.)Because of the camphor in it, it's also useful for gently opening up the sinuses when you have a cold: Put some on a handkerchief, or even a kleenex, and repeatedly inhale (you can also rub it onto your chest). It works to ease cold sores and chapped nose/lips also. It is slightly oily due to its base, but I myself don't see that as a drawback.Oddly -- and annoyingly, to me -- the two local drugstores in my town no longer sell this traditional Campho-Phenique (there's an ointment form made specifically for cold sores, which they do sell). So I've taken to buying the traditional liquid on amazon. I'm thankful it's available here, as I wouldn't want to be without it.

Not quite sure why this product has become so hard to find in brick and mortar, but my husband hAS USED IT FOR YEARS AND WAS GLAD TO FIND IT Online. Was a little pricier than I remember but at least found it and wasn't past expiration. Arrived in a timely manner and good condition.

Has been used by my family from before the time I was born. I am 73. My mother used it mostly for toothaches (although it is not supposed to be used internally). I also use it for an occasional cancer sore, cuts, scratches, and minor skin irritations along with a tooth ache. Use a cotton swab or place a little on the end of your finger to apply it. The relief is almost immediate. I cannot imagine why it is difficult to find, as there are so many uses for it and it is so effective. It numbs the skin while taking away itching and prevents infection. It does tend to be a little greasy, although not really worth mentioning. It doesn't stain.

It took a bit longer than usual to get this product, but it is good for bites, scratches, etc. worth the wait!

Love the liquid Campho Phenique. It’s the best on the market.

This is the only ointment I use when I get a cold sore. If I get that itching feeling right before I get a cold sore, I soak a q-tip with this stuff and apply it for a couple of minutes throughout the day to stop it from fully developing. If I can’t catch it in time, I apply it the same way which helps dry out the cold sore and makes it heal faster. I used to buy it at Walgreens or CVS but I could not find it a couple of days ago ☹️

Yah baby! same as it ever was,, look where my hand was.. beneath the water there is water flowing under the water, wait what..?It has a pleasant tree type of aroma and wards off the itchy hell you have on the top of your foot back of the elbow or inside the whatever, damn diabolical I'll tell you.. skeeters and spiders, just look at em exoscel aliens.. so when I get this stuff it almost always is effective inside of ten seconds.
