How quite is this or is it noisey? We need it for a training room and cannot have a loud machine in there.

Mine is actually louder than I expected. Especially when it's cooling it make a really loud noise. It is on my wet bar in my living room, but even when watching TV or a movie it's very noticeable over the volume (which I usually have pretty loud!)... Other than that, I love the unit... especially the fact that it cools to 34 degrees. I'm curious if my issue with sound is particular to my unit as other seem to not have the same feedback as I do.

Does this have to be plugged in??

Well, it doesn't HAVE to be plugged in. One only has to plug it in if you want it to cool the contents. If you just wish to store books or something, then leave it unplugged.

can you place under counter

The pictures here are misleading. You need a front venting fridge for built-in-cabinet/under-counter mounting. You’ll know the difference because the fridges meant for those enclosed spaces have a much higher price tag and an obvious vent on the bottom of the fridge. So no. Don’t mount it in enclosed spaces. It’ll over heat and ultimately lead to the fridge failing. Cheers.

Does the unit needed to be defrosted from time to time or is it frost free?

Mine is 3 years old and I have not defrosted yet.
