New Made Item: Named for General Adrian this was the first pattern steel helmet adopted for the French Infantry as standard issue in 1915. Constructed in four steel parts, peak, neck, bowl and comb each helmet offered in correct horizon blue color. Comes with painted brass "Flaming Bomb" insignia helmet badge embossed "R.F." Complete with full leather liner and leather chinstrap. Differing from the WW2 version constructed in two pieces only, bowl with integral peak and neck stamping and the added comb, these WW1 style Adrian Helmets have always been very hard to find. A great new made example of what is now a rare World War one Adrian Helmet. FITS UP TO SIZE 7 5/8 US (61 cm) The M15 Adrian helmet (French: Casque Adrian) was a combat helmet issued to the French Army during World War I. It was the first standard helmet of the French Army and was designed when millions of French troops were engaged in trench warfare, and head wounds from the falling shrapnel generated by the new technique of indirect fire became a frequent cause of battlefield casualties. Introduced in 1915, it was the first modern steel helmet and it served as the basic helmet of many armies well into the 1930s. Initially issued to infantry soldiers, in modified form they were also issued to cavalry and tank crews. A subsequent version, the M26, was used during World War II.

This helmet looks authentic accept for the black (leather?) lining and strap.
All of the original WW1 French Adrian Helmets that I have seen have the brown leather lining and chin strap. This helmet has black lining and chin strap. I cannot find a photograph showing the lining/chin strap among the item description photographs. I wonder why? Otherwise, I think the helmet looks authentic when compared to color photographs of the original helmet.

Excellent product but...
We received the helmet in a timely fashion and saw it as an excellent product but there was a slight chipping of paint (very small) on the emblem on the front of it. My son got it for Christmas and he saw it and said "Ah, well, a little battle damage- the weathering begins!" He was absolutely fine with it, and it is a great item, so if he was happy then so am I!

Solid, heavy, and seems authentic
Solid, heavy, and seems authentic. I like it and use it as a prop in my class at school so students might be able to visualize what a French soldier might be experiencing. Come with a liner and chin strap so you are all set to hop into the trenches.

Very authentic
Excellent authentic looking helmet! Couldn’t be happier! Except it arrived with some scratched off paint on the top and the chin strap is too small

The helmet is well made and sturdy, nicely colored and was undamaged in any way on arrival. My only complaint would be the rough way the paint cuts off on the underside of the helmet, leaving the ugly greenish steel parts in an uneven pattern.

MLe1915 Adrian helmet
Generally a very nice copy of the Mle1915 Adrian Helmet. The chin strap was not completely secured at the buckle end but that was an easy fix. A nice repro of an expensive helmet for collectors.

Historically accurate reproduction.
Appears to be well made and is historically accurate enough for re-enactors. Would ecommend.
