Maddie, my mutt
It was just a fun thing to do. I was pretty much informed what mix my dog was, and she looked nothing like her mother, who was a Brittany. So, I know they did not go by the picture. The results were Mostly Brittany and then Pointer, which was her dad. There were a few other breeds of lesser percentage. The instructions said to not let the dog drink from a shared water bowl. In her results, she had 1% beagle. Apparently, her mouth swab had picked up DNA from my other dog, who is a beagle. So, I was very pleased with the results. Picture is of Maddie and then the 1% contributor, my beagle, Ruby

Fun and Practical!
We bought this doggie DNA kit to determine the breed of our dog. It was very easy to use and did not cause our dog any discomfort - just use the pre-packaged swab to obtain a saliva sample by holding the swab in the dog's mouth for a few seconds. Then you package and return the sample. The results came back fairly quickly, and it was pretty cool to learn more about her! We learned her breeds (mix), some info about her temperament, and even learned about nearby relatives! It's interesting to learn more about our adopted dog. I highly recommend this kit.

Easy and quick
We bought this to try and find out what our puppy was mixed with. They told us she was German shepherd mixed with a pit. We sent out the swabs and 2 weeks later it came back she is a husky mixed with a pit. It was quick and easy to use. Will definitely purchase again.

Perhaps an accurate indicator
We wanted to identify the breeds in our rescue dog because of the unusual coloring and features. It came back that she was an Australian Cattle dog (32%) with Border Collie (21%) and other breeds thrown in. There's some similarities to these breeds but in the end you sort of have to trust that your dog has all of these breeds in the percentage indicated.Probably a more reliable test when only one or two breeds found. It does take awhile for the results.

Good for health information
My vet suggested getting a doggie DNA test to test for potential genetic issues. He said that he could run tests but it would likely cost more than going this route. I did find out that my dog is a purebred - she is from the pound. I wouldn't have purchased the test just for that. I obviously didn't care since she was a rescue and I have no intention of her having pups or showing her. She pretty much just lays on my furniture and barks at squirrels. It was easy to use and I had the results in about 3 weeks or so. It was kind of interesting to see that she has relatives all over the world. I do wish it had a better family tree to see if she is inbred - I have the feeling that she might be some kind of a mistake litter since the entire litter was left at a pound.
