The ultimate power bank for the outdoor-dweller
So I needed a power bank that would cover the following criteria:- Waterproof- Huge battery- Rugged and durable (shockproof)- Solar powered optionThe OUTXE power bank absolutely fit the bill. This thing is built like a tank. With a hard rubber/plastic combo all the way around, this power bank is one of the most rugged and durable I've ever tested: it's a beast. You absolutely do not need to worry about dropping this or it taken some severe knocks in your bag. It also has an IP67 water resistance rating so it's protected against submersion at 1 m for up to 30 mins i.e. you can drop this thing fully underwater and it'll be fine.It has 2 inputs for recharging: USB-C and Micro USB, and using both together massively cuts down the charging time (to around 6 hours) which might seem like a lot, but when you've got a battery this huge inside, it's actually pretty quick. The nice thing was that both of these cables, which supported quick charge 3.0, were included in the box. The USB-C port is actually an input/output so you could charge your device from this port too. As for dedicated outputs, the power bank offers 2 x standard USB A ports and one of these actually supports quick charge 3.0 if you want to fast charge your device. The battery is actually almost as large as you are allowed to have it and still take it on a flight with you (cut off at around 27000 mAh, OUTXE: 24000 mAh) so this battery pack, for me taking it abroad, gave me the most amount of phone recharges I could possibly get in one charge of the power bank - it ended up charging my iPhone X over 6 times from 0-100% which is just crazy. Because of the huge battery and rugged protection the power bank is obviously a lot more bulky and heavy than your standard power bank - something to bare in mind.As for the solar panel: a strong emphasis should be placed on the fact that this really is for emergency use only. The energy conversion from this small solar panel is simply too little to be efficient and the charging times are extremely slow (days). The nice thing is that as soon as you place the panel into direct sunlight, a little green LED shows you that it's charging, and it does start recharging immediately. Technically, you could charge the power bank completely only using sunlight, but this could take you over a week. Still, it was a cool feature to have and could be life-saving in an emergency.Overall, the OUTXE power bank has been designed really well and is definitely one of the best outdoors-proof power banks on the market. The price point is fairly steep, but it's worth paying if you want to make sure your power bank is fully protected.

100 hours to charge with solar power
Ok, let's start with the good stuff. The power bank is well made, rugged and it is a quality product. The size is ok but a bit heavy. I like the flash light. It is enough to light up a whole room. And now the bad thing what was the main reason I have purchased this product. Charging with solar power is just slowly. The company did not mention it how long does it take to charge it up with solar power not even on their website. I have left the power bank in direct sunlight for two days and it did not charge up. Not even on bar. That is ridiculous. Like said this was the main reason when I ordered this product and now I feel like I have been let down. If I had known this, I would have not bought this.I was hesitating between 2 and 3 stars but I made my mind up I can can not give more than 2.And without the solar power charging (because 100 hours to fully charge it up, I would not call it solar charger power bank) this is just a normal power bank.Unfortunately I can not recommend it to people who looks for solar power.Update: I have changed my rating from 2 stars to 4. The reason is because the company has contacted me and we discussed my situation. I have been offered to a replacement and a full refund. I have choosed the last one. I could not wish better customer service that I have experienced. They are were professional, friendly and helpful. Same that the product has not met with my expectation.

Poor retention of capacity
I took this and another well known brand on a trip to the outer hebrides. With the other brand (35 quid 3 years ago and not heavily used, not waterproof either) I managed to charge my Samsung note 9 2 full times from zero and my wifes Huawei p20 2 full times. I got to 75% on my phone as well for the 3rd go.With that dead, I used the OUTXE.I specifically got this big brick of a charger due to the high capacity, durability as stated and the water resistance on the item description. The last 2 items I did not test (thankfully, so I've given it the categories 3 out of 5 for fairness), but unfortunately for some reason I got 1 full charge for my phone and a bit of a charge on the wifes before it died. The solar charging ability to me is a gimmick and not really what I was interested in (it does say 100 direct sunlight hours under optimal conditions), but the lack of useable charge is quite shocking.I ensured the device was connected for over 10 hours using both charging channels as per the instructions provided, with full bars showing on completion.I'll be giving another charge tonight and see how it goes as I am now rapidly running out of time to return the item under the 30 day clause.

Solar charger doesn’t practically work
This unit holds the charge for about 8 charges of an iPhone 6. It feels rugged for travelling and I have taken it on trips. However the positives end there.Having owned this product for over a year including time travelling around Europe, Central Asia, and South Easy Asia I have never had the solar panel charge up a single bar. This includes specifically leaving it out for multiple days in the bright sun of a summer in Switzerland and multiple days in all day summer sun in Mongolia. This was done to check the solar charging function worked at all. If it takes 100hrs to fully charge, after 2 days of solid sun you’d expect to see a bar go up but it never did after even more time than 2 days. I only ever managed to charge it from a wall socket. Practically speaking the solar charger does not work. For this reason you are better off investing in a different solar charging power bank, or a regular power bank and a separate solar array. It is worth noting that a friend who had a separate solar array and power bank easily charged his unit in the Mongolian sun at the same time I tried to charge mine.
