cool, works. heres a tutorial on making antenna stronger
if you go to home depot and buy a #10-24 x 24" coarse zinc plated threaded rod, use their chain breaker and cut a piece off the size of your pointer finger, take your transmitter apart and thread it into the coiled antenna. use pliers to grip the end of the antenaa near the circuit board so you do not snap off the antenna from the circuit board while threading it, you have to thread almost to the end of the existing antenna. I heard using a coat hanger works so doing it this way should work i guess. use a 3/16 or maybe it was a 11/64th inch drill bit to drill out the antenna plastic cover. the new threaded rod will thread into it nicely. i might use super glue to make it solid later. ok next i used the leftover rod for the tail section . from the alarm brain/ ecu strip end of antenna wire (its labeled antenna, color blue i think) about an inch or 2 and wrap tightly around threaded rod. i have a zx6r 2007 and i wedged the antenna loosly under the tail seat(litterally it lies flat and the seat just wedges it down, it points sraight backwards. I also shoved the ecu/brain into the right side of the tail fender, opposite side of the seat keyed lock. the foam holds it in place without anything else. also I used Crown Bolt brand cap nuts #10-24 zinc 4 piece also from home depot. it has a rounded top, this makes it so the antenna doesnt get caught inside your pants. also I capped the outside antenna coming from the seat too. in theory this should passively boost the range quite a bit. I heard to boost fm signals you use a wire hanger so hopefully this worked. did not test before, but at least inside the house it works. please post here if you do a before or a range test with this tutorial. ok, good luck!update: from what i am gathering the reason for the unit to catch on fire is because of the signal light. replacing the wire with thicker wire wont work. the contacts on the circuitboard are too small for anything bigger. if you replace the wire without resoldering the circuit you will relocate the point of failure elsewhere on the wire. you have to just not use the signal lights or try using a 10A or 5A fuse and see if it will still work without blowing the fuse.this alarm has a silent arming/disarming feature so you can arm /disarm it at night without waking people. i did not wire into the ignition and the 30 second automatic arming still works. i do not yet know how it detects i am still riding it so it will not set off the alarm while i'm riding, but i think it it's not an issue, i just need to ride the bike to see how it works. you can turn off the 30 second auto arming. with the antenna mod i did it has better range than the second 1 way spare remote included, not sure if the antenna mod had anything to do with it. i also bolted on the tender jr. harness and it hangs out the side of the side cpover on my bike. i can charge the battery without unscrewing the cover. the harness comes with the tender jr. or you can buy it separately. the only thing i want to test is how durable this is. im also worried putting the ecu box in the tail fender might make it melt/overheat because on this 07 zx6r it has a tail exhaust, the box is sitting litterally an inch above the exhaust, again this might be a non-issue. if anything else happens i'll update this

Good alarm system
It is very small, it easy fits in the palm of my hand. The alarm is VERY loud! I can hear it through 2 walls! The wiring is not that complicated. If you want to look at the wiring diagram, Google "shark SHKMOT2WAY". It will pop up the manufactures webpage. I am going to answer some peoples questions...So it is easy to install....How do you like the remote start? It was super easy, for a hint... You may want to have the motorcycle taken apart BEFORE the package arrives. It saved me a lot of time. The remote start, is nice due to the fact that I can drive without the key. To turn the key less driving on use the remote start, and push the lighting button one more time. How did you get the instructions for installing it ??Their is none, just an wiring diagram. It comes included. If you want to look at the wiring diagram, Google "shark SHKMOT2WAY".Who would want remote start?I do, for the cold winter to have the bike preheated.Everybody I know leaves their bike in gear, and many bikes won't start with the kickstand down, so what's the purpose?I don't leave mine in gear. I have a '02 Honda Shadow VLX 600, and it does not require you to have the kickstand up. I have never seen a bike like that!Edit:Day 2, I have use this a lot! It is very nice to forget you keys in your pocket inside your jacket.I tried to use the key while the alarm was on, I still can't hear out of that ear very well. It pages you telling you that someone has just turned on the ignition. I keep the bike on the muted mode. When you go up to it, and even touch anything it will flash the lights. Touch it again, and the alarm is blaring 5 different sounds! Just don't forget, if you have a locking gas cap... Take the key with you! I thought about that earlier today. It is SO sensitive, but it does not have any fake alarms. I mounted it where it would fell every little bump.I pulled up to 7 11 and turned the key off on my bike, and stayed on, 30 sec latter the alarm auto arms it self... That was funny. Some one said that theirs caught on fire...It happen to me two... I had to rewire the whole thing.Mine went up into some, because the wires were not thick enough for my Shadows ignition, I went to Lowe's, and bought solid wire(no strains). I have not had any more problems, you ordered cheap you get cheap.
