Inexpensive but powerful soldering station.
This is an inexpensive, yet powerful soldering station. I've used this for thick and thin wires, and for surface mounted devices without it overheating the components because lower settings can be used and the unit has enough power to keep the tip at that temperature.I did use an external device to verify and calibrate the temperature and it is within a decent margin throughout the temperature range.

Best budget soldering iron I've ever used
I bought this soldering because I saw several reviews on YT and was intrigued with its small size and quick heat up time. I did one of the suggested upgrades by soldering/connecting a ground wire to ground the metal case and have been using it with no problems. My only issue was from a couple of tips I bought that kept giving me error readings, but that wasn't from the station itself but from the tip.

Great soldering system
This iron heats up in 5 - 10seconds with full temperature in about 20 seconds 450deg. Shuts down in about 15 minutes no use and restarts when you touch the iron again. All of this is programmable. You can set alarms or turn them of, even set time and I think date--not sure why though. I think it is probably because it is driven by a high end PIC processor and simply available. Other irons look like it, stay with this brand and don't get the build it yourself; if something isn't right you are on your own.

Not worth $100. More like $30...
Pencil is super cheap... like a pen tube with some hardware attached. Electronics are loose inside the control unit. Nothing worked right... constant cycle through "error" and erroneous and wildly inaccurate temp readings. Did this with the pencil removed, to a lesser extent. Tried 6 tips between the two units and all resulted in the same behavior.Went through two units and neither worked. Didn't bother taking it apart to see if I can get it working because for $100 I shouldn't need to do that. Maybe if it was a $30 DIY project... but for $100 this thing is trash.

I love this thing
I've built dozen's of keyboards with this now, both smd and through hole. Temperature is consistent enough, and honestly has never given me issues. Possibly one of the best value propositions available for soldering stations.

Great soldering station
I bought this as a gift for someone. So I cannot comment on this particular model. However, I have two earlier version that work very well and I cannot see myself parting with them. My friend's feedback is nothing but positive one he bought additional tips to suit his type of soldering work.

Almost works as advertised. My opinion.
I ordered this as a backup iron and to use when you need one in each hand. I read good and bad on the internet about these. This newer model did away with the cr2032 battery and has a smaller one soldered direct to the control board. The original short involving the control knob seems to have been addressed. Grounds are good etc. the problem or really nuiscance is in the iron itself. I finally got things lined up with it and it seems stable now. Solder joints were good, just crappy plastic construction with flaws. You can buy these irons in kit form or preassembled. Gonna try a kit one or maybe the original Hakko knockoff. Oh yea, the conical tip is useless and the chisel tip is very fine.. just FYI. I’d give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the iron. Needs a longer cord as well. ( less than a meter, maybe 2.5 feet.

Mine works great
Only dislike is doesn't come with power cord so I stole one from an old desk computer, and this might sound stupid, but I would like it better if the case was larger and a little heavier so it was more stable on the work bench.

Great soldering station for the money
I have much more expensive soldering stations than this one, but this is just great. Really good temperature control, lots of features (that I don't really use). My only criticism is that the iron itself could do with heat guard (e.g. plastic sleeve) at the point the metal (v hot) emerges from the handle (not hot). I found myself buying my finger tip when holding the soldering iron like a pen. This is quite fixable with a home-made bodge though.
