This innovation results in eight times the vibration frequency of a traditional quartz watch resulting in the most accurate watch with a continuously sweeping second hand. The aesthetic movement of the second hand becomes the symbol to the consumer of Bulova Precisionist and signals a watch with accuracy so exceptional, you can see it. The technology is accurate to 10 seconds per year as compared to most other quartz watches, which are accurate to fifteen seconds per month. About Bulova In 1875, Joseph Bulova, a 23-year-old immigrant from Bohemia, set up shop in New York City and a legendary American watch brand was born. Since that time, Bulova has stood proudly in the vanguard of timekeeping innovation, committed to the legacy of creativity and excellence established by its founder.A pioneering force in the industry, Bulova transformed how watches were worn and how time was perceived, registering over 50 patents as he and his company built a record of creativity including the first full lines of men’s and ladies’ wristwatches (1919 and 1924). To ensure the utmost in precision, in 1920, Bulova even established its own observatory – located atop its New York skyscraper. With the same spirit of innovation, following World War II, determined “to serve those who served us,” Bulova established The Bulova School of Watchmaking, using new and unique methods to train disabled veterans for positions in the watch and jewelry industry. Then, in 1960, Bulova changed timekeeping forever with the revolutionary Accutron, the world’s first fully electronic watch. An integral component of U.S. space technology, Accutron timing was used on 46 NASA missions, including Apollo XI, the first lunar landing (1969).Today, this dedication to creativity continues, with Bulova the only brand to offer three distinct timekeeping technologies – quartz, mechanical and Precisionist. One of the world’s most recognized brands, Bulova continues to maintain its position at the forefront of the timekeeping industry, upholding an extraordinary heritage of achievement in design, style and technology as it expands to meet the needs of a diverse global audience.

sweeping into thefuture
It was a bit of an impulse buy, but the price was so good at the time ($135) I couldn't resist. What a great buy though, this is a fascinating watch which memerises you whilst you look at the second hand sweep its way around the face. I am happy to just look at this smooth flowing motion - better than TV.Also love the curved crystal glass cover that provides a futuristic look. Very clever. As for time keeping, well, it cannot be faulted. I haven't run any accuracy tests, but after 6 weeks, it hasn't missed a beat.Highly commended.

Bad choice
I bought this watch on April, only used it a few times and now it's not working. It was a waste of money.

Great value
I got myself a new watch, the Bulova Precisionist Claremont. At about 170 USD from Amazon.com its a bargain. The continuously sweeping second hand is impressive, and it looks fantastic. Some say it is big, but the curved design makes it just right. The only detail I'm not entirely sure about is the faux croc strap. I might get a replacement. This item adds nicely to my mighty watch collection: A vintage Longines gold dress watch and a Timex DataLink 150 (vintage too, I guess. And certified by NASA for space travel). Some pictures of the watch:[...]

Impulse Buy
The only quartz watches I own other than this one are utility watches i.e. those that I use while camping or running. This one was an impulse purchase that got added to my collection for a few reasons:1) Sweeping full length second hand with counterweight on a quartz watch is unique. Running the second hand is a battery drain so quartz watches typically uses abbreviated second hands and have them tick to extend battery life.2) Advertised as the most accurate watch on the market with their new three prong quartz crystal. Not a big deal to me, but a point of interest.3) Curved retro looking crystal is fun even though it is only mineral glass.4) Attractive 3d depth to the face.On the down side, the case quality is barely mediocre and the band is unremarkable and generic. This isn't a great watch, but for a C-note or so it has enough points of interest to be worth adding to the display case.As for the fit, the 44mm case is fairly large, but with relatively short lugs it fits nicely on my 7" wrist without overhang. Fit is comfortable and the watch is attractive in general. With a band upgrade and careful wear this watch is ok and has been getting some wrist time at work.

Great watch!
I love the size (large, but not too big), accuracy, style and the sweeeping second hand. Plus it is unique. What a great buy.I will, however, follow a previous reviewer's comment and at some point change the black band to a tan one. That will really make this watch remarkable.I've had the watch since Christmas and it is only several seconds fast.

Buyer Beware
The watch band was thin where it attaches to the watch. It broke after only one week of light wear. I emailed Nat several times & he would not do ANTHING to rectify the problem. So I had to buy a leather band at my own expense. Nat, you had every chance to make this right. I do not know why you choose not to do so???

Sweeping second hands are pretty cool
It's a nice watch.I really like the sweeping second hand, but I guess it gets kind of old and not so nifty after a while. Its comfy to wear and you don't really notice it which is great. The only problem I had with it is that its a rather large watch. Please double check the size of the watch before you buy it because I can't wear it with any of my fitted dress shirts. It is too large to freely pass the cuff of my shirt making it hard to actually use it as a watch.

Possibly the BEST watch deal this year
Comparable with the $3000 Seiko which brags about continous second hand. Simple design with a elegant undertone that will makes me happy to wear. I enjoy seeing the continous seond hand in a quartz. Understand I like my Omega Seamaster GMT better but there is a place for this watch in my collection and I enjoy wearing it. Note the size is large but does not appear to be overwhelming on my wrist (average size wrist). Great buy for the price. I think it is worth more and most likely will go up in price.

Beautiful watch, looks high quality
Beautiful watch, looks high quality. Seems to work well so far and has kept time accurately over the past few days. Instructions on how to set time and date were slightly confusing, but it is easy enough to do once you figure it out. My order was delayed but the customer service person I delayed with was very courteous and explained the situation to me (they received defected watches that had to be sent back). My shipment still still arrived one day before the final estimate despite the delay.

Buy it!
This is my first watch from Bulova and I think I'll be a returning customer. This watch tells accurate time and looks fantastic! You can't find a better watch at this price! The second hand will fascinate you for a bit before the novelty wears off.The dial looks better in person then from these flat pictures it has a lot more detail then shown.A+ Dress watch at a reasonable price...
