Jovial Fig Fruit Filled Gluten Free Organic Cookies, 7.5-Ounce (Pack of 5)

I was looking at Amazon.com to see if there were any gluten free cookies available that looked appealing to me. I came across these fig cookies, and I really wanted to order them but was a little hesitant since a lot of gluten free food just simply doesn't taste that great. I have celiac disease and cannot have any gluten, period. So, these cookies are the first gluten-free fig cookies I have ever seen. I was so excited and decided to give it a try. I hoped that I hadn't wasted almost $17 on something I wouldn't want to eat. Well, when I got home from work today, I saw the package and opened it immediately and tore right into one of the 2-pack plastic wrapped cookies. They were INCREDIBLE!!!! Oh my, they are just so good. I haven't had a fig newton cookie for 2 1/2 years, since my diagnosis. They used to be one of my all time favorite cookies, and it's been a little sad to not have them. But these are a great alternative to fig newtons when you live in a gluten free world. I read some of the reviews that complained about the cookies crumbling in your hand. They did not crumble in my hand. They crumbled some in my mouth as I took a bite, but who cares? I'm going to be chewing them anyway. And they were not dry and did not leave a bad taste in my mouth. They made my mouth water cause they were so good. I opened another 2-pack and decided that I needed to "test" them a little more before I made my final decision on taste. They are worth every single penny I paid. I wish that I could pay a reasonable price for good gluten free food, but due to the more expensive ingredients, that just isn't going to happen. I highly recommend these cookies, and I don't give out compliments to gluten free food products very often. You should not be disappointed if you try them. I'm so glad I did :)

The best gluten-free cookies! They don't have a lot of filling which make them very delicate in flavor, not super sweet as the normal fig-filled cookies. And the small packages make them perfect for school and work.

I tried these because I was craving a good old fashioned fig newton....I found that these cookies are so dry that it is difficult to swallow them...like trying to swallow a cotton ball...maybe if they tripled to amount of the filling it might be more enjoyable and easier to swallow the darn cookie. Now I have several boxes of these things and I gotta figure out a way to use them...maybe a good soaking in some coffee (or Rum :D) will do the trick...

Cookies were very dry and crumbly. Filling had very nice taste but there wasn't nearly enough of it. Was disappointing as I really miss fig newtons. Will not buy again.

I loved the idea of buying a gluten-free fig bar. The flavor of the filling is great, but the cookie crumbles when bit into. You lose a lot of the cookie crust at first bite unless you save it on a plate or in your hand. Wish they could figure out how to keep the crust from crumbling.

The small packs of fig cookies are just the right size, so I won't eat too many at one time. They have a very nice flavor. The fig filling is seedless, which is fine, although I actually prefer some seeds like in a Fig Newton bar. The outer cookie coating is quite crumbly and a little dry. If it weren't for that, I'd give it 5 stars. I'll still order more, though.

These are my favorite gluten free dairy free cookie. The texture is soft with the fig filling. Having two cookies per package, gives you just the right amount for a snack.

These are great! I've missed fig newtons & these are very reminiscent of them. Tasty! I like that they are packaged in sets of two--these are perfect for a snack to carry in my pocketbook or for a lunchbox. I took a bunch of these on a trip to Africa & they were the perfect size.
