Rockport Men's Astride Walking Shoe-

I have worn these Astride shoes for 3 months and they are wearing out the sole at the heel and the inner back heel pad is coming apart. They are almost a half size larger than any other Rockport shoes I have worn.They are well padded and have a wide toe so they feel quite comfortable (of course this may be due to the extra insoles needed to adjust the size problem). They are a very nice comfy shoe but not what I would call " a sturdy walking shoe'. I have worn Rockport World Tour Walkers for over 5 years and still prefer them for walking to the Astride.

I have owned several pairs of Rockport walking shoes and have looked to them for quality. However, I was disappointed in these. The new cushion insole has a tendency to conform to the foot. That feature allowed a cushion "build-up" under my big toe at the joint with the foot which caused a lot of discomfort. This may not be a problem for you, but I had to switch to a different shoe. I still have faith in Rockport but not this style.

Six months of use and the sole separated from the shoe about half way from toe to heel. Water got in, of course. Used super glue to reattach the sole and they seemed to work for another month...then came apart again. I have never had problems with Rockport shoes, of which I have owned about six pair. I will try this model again, just to be sure this was a fluke.

These shoes are not as comfortable and sturdy as the Rockport Prowalkers I have worn for several years. Also, in these Astrides, one feels and ought to get used to the bubble air cushioning in the middle of the shoe. An additional quarter of an inch heal would have made me more satisfied. But all in all, this is quite a comfortable and presentable shoe that will serve me for a reasonable length of time, and I hope to buy more pairs. Further, there was quite a substantial discount and free shipping on Amazon, which was enticing. I had never, before, worn these Astrides, but the public reviews were encouraging!Also, consider that because Rockport manufacturing has progressively become outsourced to many Asian countries (including Vietnam), the quality of the same shoe models can still vary and make it harder to judge overall quality. It is not like those times when Rocports were manufactured in a couple of settings.

I am a CNA at a nursing home and I have to give showers every shift, so my feet get pretty wet. I needed shoes that are waterproof, white, and full theather. These are the only ones I could find that say they are waterproof and they are doing great so far. I have had them for 3 months.

I live near an outlet mall, but THESE prices were better PLUS I dont have to drive 16miles and fight 1000's of sweaty tourists just to get a clerk who never quite mastered english.shop from home and save money, how much better does it get!

This shoe runs wide especially in the heel. My husband wears 11 1/2 D and his foot was swimming. He only wears Rockport so I am not sure why the discrepancy
