Easy to install. Works well.
Observe the wiring on the old switch, noting the color of the wire that attaches at each numbered terminal of the switch. Wire up the new switch just like the old switch. Simple installation took just a few minutes and restored the fan to full functionality. No complaints.

Zing Ear ZE-268S6 Switch Works As Needed, E116997 Replacement
The Zing Ear Pull Chain Switch, ZE-268S6 3 Speed 4 Wire Switch replaced a WELL TEC, 6A 125VAC, model E116997. The old switch was about 20 years old and the plastic mechanism inside finally broke. The four terminals are difficult (black on black plastic) to read on the switch L, 2, 1, 3 (clockwise order). Removing the 4 wires is simple, use a small screwdriver (1/8 in. flat blade or smaller) to release them. Follow the same wire color-number order as the original switch to insert the wires. I looked at numerous pictures & videos to find a recommended orientation for the switch in the fan housing, I found nothing. I mounted it with the pull chain in/out down and applied some white grease to the chain.

Unit Failed After Installation
Before purchasing this unit, I confirmed the model number was correct for my Emerson ceiling fan. The installation was easy, but the switch would only work on 1 of the 3 speeds. I confirmed it was wired correctly and suspect it was a "bad" unit. I have ordered another unit (same model number) from a different supplier and am returning the faulty unit. I cannot recommend this supplier's switch.
