Inexpensive, Invaluable Replacement
If your washer buttons eaten-up or sits askew in its seat; The contact point behind is a small cross-shaped plastic piece with 90° edges that easily eventually chew up the button rubber (over the course of years, that is)Used to have to press the button hard & repeatedly, then eventually while needing to pull/push to the side. Now works as it should; With a single, light press of the button (this is just a button cover)

Wow, saved over $150.
Who would have thought that a rubber button could be the reason that the washer stopped working. I watch a reality video on YouTube and gave it a shot. Three outside screws 1/4 inch and 2 internal screws 5/16 inch and replaced the rubber screw.Fingers crossed. Two washes and it works. Looks identical to the original.

Fixed the issue
The button works great but I was having the same problem as everyone else and found out the button doesn't fix it all the time. Bend the tab back behind the button! It was super sensitive and the washer was pausing itself.

Save yourself a lot of money and. Fix your washer your self
Fit my GE washer perfectly and is working great . Easy fix only took me about 15 minutes. Save myself a whole lot of money and did it myself. If your GE washer won't start give this a try less than seven dollars and a few minutes can save you hundreds of dollars. Highly recommended
