It is a durable plastic toy suitable for kids

The sword itself lasted long for a plastic sword, but the wrapping for the handle came off pretty quickly. I had to re-wrap it a few times. Son loved it.

Can it be used for sword fighting?

My five-year-old grandson just uses it when he has the costume on but not really to sword fight
