Q: could these be used on a purse? One of my friends family members stole from my purse. I need something small and light...yet easy to open

As long as you can hide the lock. Its not very visually appealing so if there is like a flap that covers the zipper, it would be more ideal. I honestly think it is somewhat difficult to take off luggage because I drop it all the time. May get kind of annoying with a purse.

Q: Has a key if I forget the combination?

No unfortunately it is against federal law to ship the key with the lock. We have tried to include it in the past but Customs won't allow it.

Q: Are these good for outdoor useage? There is not enough space for a regular lock on my back yard gate so i need a steel wire one.

No these won't hold up outdoors. The cord would but the lock itself would definitely break. I agree with the stainless steel mentioned before. Steel wire is great security, just check one out that has a stronger long lasting lock box on it. So it will hold up in temp changes and precipitation.

Q: would the cable pass a 5mm hole
