This chair is super easy to put together and works great.

The chair is well-built and very easy to assemble. It sits solidly (no wobble) and can be used to sit on or rest against (on carpet). But 2 minor issues: the foot ring won't stay in an elevated position and ultimately slides to the bottom; and the spring-loaded back is not adjustable and has a strong tension - forcing you to sit in the middle to the front of the chair. In the end, it may actually force better posture. Add that I don't typically lean back while working and could probably work without a chair back entirely, but for those that do use a chair back, this might not be ideal.

I like Vari. I have more than one of their desks and monitor arms with all sorts of their accessories. This was my first chair purchase from them.Super easy to assemble. By myself, maybe 10 minutes, probably less.It goes very tall, which is good. It does not go far enough down to be a good chair, as your feet don't sit on the floor well. I am 6'5", so my legs are plenty long, this is just a true drafting chair.Ok, the issues. The foot right. Has a single screw, no collar for tightening. So it spins, and doesn't stay in place. It just drops right down, almost instantly.The arms, tilt-up at the front. I don't like it as they try and sit on top of the desk, but some may like that difference.Overall, I was unimpressed. The foot ring is pretty critical to a drafting chair. Returning the chair.

So easy to assemble. It took me longer to get it out of the box than it did to assemble. Very good ergonomics, great lumbar support.

This black plastic piece was inside the hole under the chair. There was nothing in the instructions saying to remove it. I chatted with Varidesk customer service and was told to remove it. It was VERY difficult to remove. I had to use a razor and sharp scissors. If it is not removed completely, the chair will not sit on the piston. Customer service was very helpful.

Be sure to read the bottom of my review to learn how I come up with my product ratingsThis chair was purchased for me by my company so the review will not show as a verified purchase.I'm not sure if I should begin with the features, quality and comfort of the chair or how easy it was to assemble but the assembly part of the review is very quick so we'll begin with it.From the time it was taken out of the box until it was ready to be used was ten minutes, maybe even less. The chair comes in three parts. The top, which is the actual seat and armrests, the post/footrest, which is what raises and lowers the seat and the wheel section.The seat section is fully assembled so no need to screw on the armrests, the post is only one section with the foot rest ring slipping through it and the wheel section is also fully assembled so there is no need to insert each wheel caster. Because of all of this the assembly takes five to ten minutes. I have owned many other chairs and it is never this easy. Thank you Vari.The design of the chair is perfect and it forces you into the correct ergonomic position for true comfort but you do not feel like you are sitting in an unnatural position. The arm rest not only move up and down but also side to side making them easy to find the perfect position. I use a wrist support that is connected to my desk and having this extra adjustability allows me to fine tune the support to the right height and right angle.The backrest is mesh with plenty of air circulation so there should be no issues in the summer months. It also spring action that gently pushes your back into the right posture but as I mentioned above it does it very gently so you do not feel anything unnatural.Lastly, I can tell the seat cushion is made of high quality foam and will last. The issue with my last chair was that the cushion became "flat" in a very short period of time, wasn't a brand name and could not be replaced. Lesson learned.How I rate products:When I give a rating to a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then add and/subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below.1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four-star rating2. If an item surpasses my expectations it will gain a star (5 Stars)3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations it will lose a star (3 Stars)4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations. I hate poorly written instructions5. If a product is significantly below my expectations I will deduct two stars6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four star product receives a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product only one starAdditionally, if a product fails over a short time period I will come back and update my review but will also take into consideration how the company’s customer service handles the repair or replacement. I understand that issues sometime arise, even with the best of products and a rating update may not be necessary.

The product was in poorly refurbished condition.

I'm very impressed with the products from Vari. The build quality of this product is excellent and feels 100% professional. I use this in my home office along with their standing desk. the versatility of the height adjustment for this pair is nicely with the standing desk.
