Midea AKPD12CR4 Arctic King 12000 BTU Portable AC

I am very happy with this purchase. It was a few hundred dollars cheaper than the best-reviewed model, and has made a huge difference in my house. Installation was a little confusing, I had to enlist my partner's father. The hoses are bulky, but comfort is more important to me than aesthetics. I've lived in the Pacific Northwest for almost 10 years and until the last few years, there really have only been about 3 days a year when you might need a/c. That's changed and it had gotten so that everytime we came home, we were greeted by a gust of hot air when we opened the front door. Now, even though the a/c isn't near the front door, the air is cool when we open the door. We have the unit in our TV room, and the room is as cool as one with central a/c. The dogs seem more comfortable too.

Can I give it 0 stars please. JUNK! Don't waste your money. I bought 2 of these for my parents to keep them cool and safe this summer. We got our first heat wave in Wisconsin and installed both. Neither work correctly. One cools for a bit then stops blowing cold. Thermostat set to 62 and its 80 in house and stops blowing cold air then starts for 10 seconds off for 30. Wtf. The other one didn't blow cold air at all. Thanks arctic king for making such a fine product...NOT!!

Had to upgrade our circut but this has been a very powerful blower of cold air here in AZ.

Works great for a room that is 450 sq ft!
