FANTASTIC BAG IN EVERY WAY - READ MY REVIEW -- LOVE THIS BAG
H U G E !!! This piece is cavernous, capacious, spacious!! Just be careful not to pack too much to be over the 50lb limit for airlines. We LOVE this bag -- it's solid, SUPER EASY to maneuver -- love all of its features. Some reviews complained about the large open side -- well it's awesome! It's a versatile side -- you can use packing cubes - or not; lay towels flat, roll them, lay jeans flat, or roll them, lay dress shirts flat on their hangers fairly straight, I mean you really have a ton of options -- I cannot see why you could complain about that. So -- to be honest -- my son is using this for Study Abroad for a FIVE WEEK trip (yes he's going to Europe, I'm going to WalMart and Kroger LOL). If he was just travelling from USA to Europe, he would have taken two 24 or 26 inch bags (just like these, hard side, spinner, with FOUR wheels, etc) because US airlines allow TWO checked bags with each bag weight limit of 50 lbs EACH not total combined. But he was going from USA to Germany, then taking a European airlines from Germany to France and that airlines allows only ONE checked bag -- so we had to buy this jumbo bag and pack it carefully to be at or under the 50 lb limit. So there you go -- it is a truly FANTASTIC bag in every way, we chose it specifically after a ton of shopping and comparisons -- well worth what we paid. BE SAFE IN ALL OF YOUR TRAVELS :)

Secure, and durable
This is the second Samsonite suitcase that I have purchased of the same design, because it’s extremely secure and durable; however, my old one had a damaged wheel, but after seven years of use and 500,000 miles of travel — offered at a reasonable price. One of the major advantages of the suitcase that is a locked and secured, sealed suitcase, not with a zipper, because zippers can be opened with a ballpoint pen, which is quite common in Indonesia and Malaysia, allowing luggage handlersto do some shopping, and, then, close up the suitcase, again with a ballpoint pen.

This is a perfect suitcase for traveling to insecure countries, but it proved to be a disaster
I received the suitcase the day before I was going to travel. I noticed that the toggle button to set the lock was shaky and and hard to work. I packed the suitcase to see if my stuff would all fit, and then set my code, shut it, and then I could not open it again. I drove all the way to the airport to see if TSA could open it, it has a TSA lock, they tried all their keys and none worked, they said the lock was jammed and it must have been defective when I received it. I took it to a locksmith who also could not open it. Since I needed my stuff, it had to be pried open, the locking mechanisms were jammed. Had to run and buy a new suitcase, a shame, and a disaster when getting ready to go on a long journey.

Easy to maneuver but 'weighty'.
Very easy to maneuver. Not lightweight though, as it weighs 11 lbs. by itself. So that's already 11 lbs. added to the items & clothing in your luggage. Not scratch proof. I bought a protective cover but that didn't even fully do its job. I received this luggage with a malfunctioning lock so I had to find and go to a Samsonite authorized repair shop to have it repaired. Good thing they repaired it for free. If you're a Samsonite fan, this may interest you. But other than maneuverability & color, everything else is so-so.

Love the clasps instead of a zipper but it got scuffed up a bit
I purchased the Cruiser DLX Hardside Spinner 26" because I only had a 29" Samsonite other style and carry on which I had a lot of trouble opening the zipper on the other Samsonite carryon. I loved the DLX because of the clasps and also it was JUST BARELY able to fit under the bed in our stateroom on a Celebrity cruise. My 29" other Samsonite DID NOT fit under the bed as well as my husband's Samsonite 1910 style. The outside did get scuffed up a little bit but not too bad. The color is great. I did not get instructions for TSA lock but I figured it out once we were on board the ship. I love that you can push it with another piece of luggage in front of you but it's a hard push when you're on carpet as in the airport going to and from the baggage carousels and other areas. Maybe in the next year I will purchase the 30" to go with this one but more likely I will wait for the other 'Samsonite to break. As an "oh by the way" comment, my husband's 1910 Samsonite got bent somewhere between the airline (southwest) and the ship. It still closes but there is a gap and I suspect after another trip it may not stay closed. It is 2 years old. We have used it on 1 cruise no airline, and 1 flight the year after to Hawaii.

Will buy again!!
I have used this suitcase twice, once abroad, It works excellent, very durable, no dents just slight scuffing. The only complain is there were not directions how to set the lock, just went online and did a search, found it immediately. Also the extendable handle detent is a little weak and folds down rather easily and if the handle was about 1 -2 inches taller it would per perfect. Overall it is a good case, I am now looking to upgrade the remaining luggage for me and my wife with the Cruisair DLX Hardside Spinner as well.

Useless lock
I had one of these and used it on a number of European trips. It worked well. Last spring Southwest Airlines removed one wheel of that bag on a flight from Florida. I ordered another one. It has been nothing but grief since it arrived. The combination lock is defective and cannot be set. I tried numerous times following the instructions. Samsonite sent me a bunch of videos that were not for this bag so I had to move the three dials by hand until the appropriate combination opened the case. I just got off the phone with Samsonite. They will honor the warranty by requiring me to drive several hundred miles to a repair center in Illinois to get the lock replaced. I bought this case because it does not have a zipper system of closure which I do not feel is secure. However, this bag disappoints me greatly. The way Samsonite honors the warranty makes me feel the warranty is useless. I have used Samsonite products for years. However, that will now end as I go shopping again for my next European trip.
