Safe, Bright, and Convenient to use. Replaced my mantle lanterns and rechargeable 6v lanterns. Can't live without.
These lights are bright and handy. Here's some thoughts:Pros:- Safety. They are cool to the touch and perfectly safe to let my kids use in camp. Can't say the same for my propane mantle lanterns.- Price, price, price! I got these on an Amazon Deal of the Day, and I think I paid something like $4 per lamp in a 3-pack. How can you beat that?- Brightness. They are very bright and light up 360 around camp/room. I do like that by raising and lowering the light body, you can moderate how much light is being thrown.- Battery life. We used these around camp for a week and the first set of batteries are still in use. I was particularly surprised how long the batteries have lasted. I have done no scientific study to see how long they will last on a set (especially where each battery type will differ in longevity), but they lasted for a week of camping with regular use. That's all I need to be satisfied.- Ease of use. You grab the base and lift up on the handles and the light raises and simultaneously turns on. The more you lift the body, the more light you get. How simple!- Size. These things are small and lightweight. But, they still through great light.Cons:- Haven't found any yet.Overall, these things are awesome! I love them. They have replaced both my propane-powered mantle lanterns and my lanterns with rechargeable batteries. They're just too easy to use and convenient. I don't have to worry about recharging batteries on my old 6v rechargeable lantern or dealing with propane, mantles, or extreme temperatures of my mantle lanterns. What a pleasure to use, and the kids are safe to use them themselves with no danger.I hope I have helped your purchasing decision of this product. The Little Lanterns That Could!
I've recently started amassing the necessities to start taking my boys out camping more and these popped up in my list one day. I hadn't really thought about it until I saw them. Of course I'll need lanterns! I'm not gonna use my phone like a goober. Based on the great reviews and the sale that knocked the price down a few dollars, I picked up this 3-pack and received them promptly. The items were in their own individual boxes, which were taped to one another. Inside they are wrapped in bubble wrap. The boxes as well as the items within were all in great condition. As a side note, it was kind of jarring to see how small these were. I remember camping with my parents 20 years ago and them using the giant Coleman gas lantern. In fact, they probably still have it... and use it... sigh...I like that the batteries are pre-installed, so once you rip out the little plastic pull tab that is stopping the middle battery from making a connection, it's off to the races. My kids and I enjoyed testing them out and thought they were very cool. The handles were sturdy enough and the overall plastic construction was solid. Once raised, there wasn't any issue with it holding that position. Oh, and the light? Bright. Yah... bright. I'm fairly certain I won't need to raise it any more than half way to do what I need to.For the price, these are a great deal. I may buy another set in the near future so that I can have one set that stays with my camping gear and the other will be split in to different areas (car, tool chest, backyard). And maybe a third set so my folks can replace the ancient Coleman they have to lug around. I noticed that there are lots of these types of lanterns available here on Amazon. Thinking they are all made by the same company with a different logo slapped on, but even if that is the case, it doesn't matter. These lanterns rock!

Solid Product that Delivers
These lanterns have been spectacular for our family. I purchased them to aid my two young daughters who are scared of the dark in those instances where the power goes out. Instead of panicking, they know they can just grab these lights and use that light to find their way to mommy and daddy's room. So a quick breakdown for reference:Build Quality: Great. They are plastic, but it is durable and has held up to some unapproved playtime with my daughters (5 and 3). The screw on base cap where the batteries go requires some torque to get open, which is actually a big plus, because it is easy enough for adults yet still difficult for little children.Features: Solid. There isn't much to them, but what is there is good. They are easy to open in varying degrees to control the light output, relatively compact (though larger than you may think from the photos), and the handles are incredibly convenient for hanging the lanterns with.Light Output: Good. These things are bright, but I'm not suggesting they will overpower a high-powered LED flashlight. When the power got knocked out just a day ago, two of these lit up my daughters' room well enough to substitute for the 60W lamp that they usually use. All things considered, I think the light output is about what you would want for the applications these apply to (in most instances).Battery Life: Great. The batteries in these lanterns have held out for a considerable amount of time and I've yet to replace the batteries originally placed in them. No signs that I need to consider it either. Very pleased.I would absolutely recommend these lanterns to anyone looking to have a lighting source for a camp tent or for some added security for the little kids in your life that are scared of the dark.
