Q: How does this product work on wood putty? I used some to fill a hole to change out hardware and need to cover the putty to make the old holes less?

It would soak in and color the putty. However if it's a large area your covering keep in mind the stain is see through so there would be no wood grain where the putty is therefore may be seen. It's great for a small area though.

Q: Does this contain a sealant or is it just the stain?

No it is just "stain", it sucks.

Q: Is this skin staining??

I use this to retouch chip on my table.. once it gets thoroughly dry I don't think it transfer to skin . If you accidentally touch it while wet it might transfer to skin but easily removable by soap & water.
