Malibu Pilates Chair with 3 Workout DVDs

The vender offered a product I already had and was replacing after 5 years of use. I knew it well and the original fell apart, so in order to maintain physical well being and put off knee replacement, I ordered a second one. It arrived quickly, in perfect condition and was a few dollars less expensive than Guthy Rencker. My original machine purchased from the infomercial of Susan Lucci and Guthy Rencker, broke at the welds after 5 years, so I would never recommend purchasing a used one. This vendor did exactly as advertised and I am pleased and would use them again anytime I needed something they sell.

Five years of working out and a significant weight loss that I have had, this chair by far is well worth the money! It teaches you to use the transverse abd muscle like you never have used it before. What a world of difference my workouts are now after adding in this chair! Very easy to put together, and very user-friendly. I find the quick circuit poster is very handy to have and do the moves while watching tv. The video's can be intimidating at first, watching them do all these moves that look impossible, but after a few days of practice they get easier to do.

hard to use if no one else is working out with you. Probable would work better if I had a reason to use it.

The Pilates chair in the picture was not the one they sent to me. The one I got was very cheep looking and defective. I used it a few times and then the foot peddle slipped off when I was exercising and I hit my leg on the bar when it sprang back up. It must be over 3 weeks ago when I hurt my leg on this Pilates chair, The bruise was so deep I still have a mark and a swollen area on my leg, and it is still quite sore. I am not new to Pilates, I have a Pilates reformer of my own and have been doing Pilates for years. I do not recommend this product.

The Malibu Pilates Chair is easy to use. The three instructional videos are very helpful. The chair did require some assembly but it was not too difficult, even for a person like me who has no mechanical skills. I find the exercises to be very effective for every body part -- legs, arms, abs. I would recommend the Maibu Pilates Chair to anyone looking for an effective, fun to use piece of exercise equipment.

1) Received the product in a box that was literally falling apart upon my doorstop - surprised it made it actually. 2) Product arrived missing a DVD. Was told by seller the DVD was being ordered separately and would be sent along ASAP: I did receive the DVD. 3) The springs which give the push bar its tension appear to be stretched out or too long or just not made for this unit as the pedal hangs down 1/2 way towards the ground and not up towards the seat as shown in picture. With the push bar hanging so low, you are not able to use it for many of the exercises. 4) There is a small hole in the seat. Seller said the chair had been used once and then placed in garage. Does not add up with the wear and tear the unit appears to have been put through.I was very excited to get the chair and begin working out - until I got the chair and all the wind went out of my sails. I was only able to "use" it once - and that was a sham because of the condition of the springs. The chair is now in my garage.If I wanted to sell the chair I would disclose all the wear and tear to the unit - things not disclosed to me. And considering all of the previous, the price was high: $300 - that is only $100 less than buying a brand new chair through the infomercial - wish I had gone that route.

If you are like me exercise is a four letter word - "work". I must say I was impressed with the workmanship of the construction, and the ease through which I slid through the 20 minute workout. You can do this program, though the one exercise you may hesitate to try looks like a magician trying to levitate over the chair. I passed on this one because the upper body strength is just not there for this girl. I hasten to add I cannot do a regulation push up either. The springs on the bottom of the chair require a little bit of finesse to navigate, but after a few tries I was moving them quickly. I live in a small apartment too far from a gym for after-work sessions. The Pilates Chair lets me exercise all the major muscle groups at home, and then it folds up and stores under the bed. It's also really sturdy. I don't feel it's going to break when I'm going full throttle.
