This prop is made or EVA foam (what lots of cosplayers use) molded over a plastic and metal support fame. It is sturdy, the sight is easily removable, and the level of detail is high. It is actually a fairly good representation of the hero prop used by Harrison Ford in ANH and ROTJ, although the scale is slightly small compared to models based on actual C96 Mauser replicas.While the details are good, the prop arrived with a lot of molding flashing, some surface irregularities, and the paint job is, in my opinion, terrible. The weathering was haphazardly applied silver paint. Also, due to the molding process, there are some limitations to the details, such as the holes in the flash muzzle. A bit of work with a dremel tool, some light sanding, some filler material, and a coat of Rustoleum black automotive primer improved it tremendously. I also painted the handle grips and the flash muzzle with contrasting colors to give the prop some more life. The result is an impressive costume prop that will pass as "authentic" by most casual viewers.

5 stars! It’s made from a foam material but you can’t tell by looking at it. Looks like a movie prop. Great for display! It’s a harder foam so it will definitely hold up to cosplay as well. Absolutely love it! Very inexpensive, I would have paid more and not complained one bit. Don’t think about it, just buy it. This was sitting in my Amazon cart for weeks until I finally purchased it. Wish I did it sooner!!!

A stiffer "nurf" foam type material make it bulletproof. There is a lot of attention to detail, it looks like the real deal. I purchased an adult Han Solo blaster holster unrelated to this blaster, they fit each other perfectly.The designer/manufacturer went out of their way to offer a lot of value. It could have looked cheap, but they went out of their way to make it look right. From 10 feet away you probably could not tell the difference between this and the real movie prop blaster that was sold for $1million at auction.Amazon is amazing, I put a Han Solo outfit together 2 days before a May the 4th Saturday party. I got lucky how well everything showed up and turned out.
