I purchased this as a refurb from Amazon warehouse - no complaints it looked as new enough to me.What this does that my phone doesn't is it is always on, listening for you to address it by name.On my phone, you have to press the Alexa button, which means playing with my phone eyes off the road - where did that kid come from Ugghhhh!I was lucky in that my second-hand car had a USB lead from a removed dashcam just behind the rearview mirror, this was important because my car has vents that automatically close when you switch off so the supplied bracket was of no use to me. There are other brackets out there that have sticky pads, one of which I purchased so it is now fixed out of sight.My car does not have Bluetooth so I personally purchased a Bovee 1000 and plugged it into my car's iPod socket.It all works seamlesslyWhat did I not like - that's a tough one, I can't think of anythingWhat would I have liked - well for me and probably only me, if it had built-in Wi-Fi where you could add any sim, it would have saved my finding a mobile hub on eBay.Why did I need this you may ask - well I have a business phone with very limited data, plus the kids want wi-fi in the car when we go out.

I was so wanting this to work but I found it a hassle, just having Alexa on my mobile in the car worked out to be better. I would never have known this was a 'refurbished' item, looked like new to me.

Brought two of these one for myself and my hubby, looks good and sound is good too, but Alexa looses connection easy because of Bluetooth connection, and she doesn’t always hear your commands, you also have to go into your source settings to get the Bluetooth connection on instead of the radio , my hubby likes to use the radio through Alexa but she looses radio Berkshire all the time. , needs improvements, needs better Bluetooth/ satellite in dead areas as she doesn’t always come back automatically where she left of .

Was disappointed to receive a refurbished machine after my original failed

It’s brilliant. I got it as I have a 09 plate so no hands free etcIt sometimes doesn’t want to play my music and I choice the radio instead.It will answer your phone if you say “Alexa answer the phone” it’s not so keen on phoning someone hand free if they arnt Alexa device owners. Otherwise I pull over. Sat sav on phone likes it. You need an auxiliary port to use it and some older cars don’t have this. I found out it will ring emergency services and breakdown on voice command. It does drain the battery a tad so be mindful when just nipping shops. A brilliant buy. My partner and best mate wanted one but they don’t have an auxiliary ports.

When it works its a great fun thing to have in the car, but more often than not, it won't, I've had 2 so far and the 3rd on its way as they work for a while then they refuse to connect to your phone, I've had the same problem on both units, so if the next one they send does the same, its going back for a refund, and to be honest I won't miss it, as you can download the Alexa app on your phone and still stream music from Amazon music without it, you just lose voice control unless your holding your phone, I only persevere with it as my son bought it me for Christmas, but if this one fails, which I'm sure it will going by the other 2, its going back.

If you have your windows open, it won’t hear you or mishear you. I have mine connected to my Amazon Music account and it says it can’t find some things but can search it on the app and it finds it?? Other than that, it works great. Connects to the Alexa App well and mine works through an AUX cable.
