Easy setup as a wifi extender using powerline
Used this to extend the reach of my wifi network using powerline adapters. I Connected the WD powerline live adaptor to the router upstairs and this one was plugged into a electric socket downstairs and was used as a wifi extender to extend wifi range. Worked well - now I get wifi on all floors.Bought 2 more to use as a powerline connector to my sonos and tivio. At this basement price this was cheaper than buyIng dedicated powerline adaptors

D-link! You need better manual writers!!!!
OK, long story short, the product is really good. It does work well and has a pretty high build quality. Now I need to sing the song of the other reviewers, WOW DOES D-LINK NEED TO READ THEIR OWN MANUALS!!!!!! They S T I N K! I purchased the D-Link DHP-1320 Wireless-N PowerLine Router and the D-Link DHP-W306AV PowerLine AV Wireless N Extender to replace an aging home network. I need everyone reading this to understand that I am an IT professional, I do this stuff for a living. I have very little experience working with Power line adapters, but I figured the other reviewers had to have very little computer knowledge and this is why they had a hard time figuring it out.Boy was I wrong!!! Let me give you a primer, The manuals for the DHP-1320 and the DHP-W306AV actually contradict each other! Clearly giving you two different sets of directions for establishing a connection between the two. One tells you same room, one tells you different rooms, one tells you 3 seconds to hold down the button, the other doesn't say, you get the picture?!? After searching far and wide I found the answers I needed and both the manuals are wrong. While one manual tells you a specific period of time, going past 3 seconds is pretty easy. Couple this with the fact that they do not clearly tell you what the buttons look like and the DHP-1320 having no indicator that it's in pairing mode (and the US instructions not telling you the home link button should be flashing) will leave you scratching your head wondering what the heck you should actually do.Have no fear, I found a PDF manual from the Australian D-link site with much clearer instructions. Apparently holding down the button for different lengths of time puts the router (or the adapter) into different pairing modes. Here is the download [...] (now last time I checked Australian and the US spoke the same language, so why are the manuals different?) You need to hold the button from 1 - 3 seconds (a little easier to determine than a straight 3 seconds) to put it in pairing mode.If you are going to purchase this product, tread lightly if you are easily confused or bewildered. You may need to have your local IT guru on hand to help you out.

Meh
Horrible UI quality. Changing certain options (such as static IPs) does not always go through and sometimes have to re-enter the same info 2-3 times and re-try until it finally goes through and does not get "ignored" when applying a setting. Filled with bugs.Aside from UI issues, it also suffers from the Router vs AP mode implementation issues.

Half OK
This is a new power-line combo with a wireless N router so I thought it would be great in my office and extendable throughout my home. No such luck for the second part (see my review of the wireless extender DHP-W306AV). As a N router is seems fine. The CD-set up was not helpful, very confusing, and for example, did not connect to my FIOS(Verizon) router although the account/password was correct, or give me a choice of FIOS as an internet source. So I just plugged it into my current set up as I expected it to go, and after a bit with D-link support was up and running (support was fine). Namely: several devices into one 8-port switch. This switch into the 1320 router via one cable. The uplink from the router into a spare port in my Verizon router/FIOS connection. So I have both the Verizon and the D-link wireless networks going. Not sure if I can unplug the Verizon one and go directly D-link to FIOS (probably), don't want to spend the weekend trying this out. I do think that setting up these networks is terribly wasteful of time and effort. Why should I have to fight with IP addresses? And now I have a power-line N router which only does the N-part.The wireless signal seems strong enough locally, but not enough for the house, so I am going to try a repeater, since the power-line option did not take. I have the Hawking HWREN1 Hi-Gain Wireless-300N Range Extender on order.Update: the Hawking arrived and was set-up in 10 mins to give a strong signal throughout the house. No problems so far. Clearly the way to go for my situation.

Has to be reset every two to three days!
I purchased this Power Line Router so I can connect the internet to a smart TV. I also purchased at the same time a Linksys PLWK400 kit. Installation manual was poorly written, in fact instructions were incorrect. Router would not take the password, etc... Finally got it working after about two hours. Ran perfect... Netflix on the Smart TV. However, that was the only thing connecting with any consistency. Everything else, Laptop running Windows 8, Laptop running Window 7 and Desktop running Windows Vista, 2 iPhones all had connectivity issues about every other day requiring me to reset the router. Ironically, the TV never had an issue. So I guess for the initial purpose of hooking up the tv it worked great, but for everything else it was a very poor experience.

Works great. If setting up more than one dlink powerline ...
Works great. If setting up more than one dlink powerline device, set them up wired to the device, and set them up one at a time.

Seems to do the job right
No complaints, seems to work as advertised. As easy to set up as any other product out there, especially if you are familiar with a manual setup. The wireless and HomeLink functions allow this to connect with wired and wireless devices.

Better buy a newer model
I couldn't make it work with other Powerline extensions also from D-Link, probably because those have a newer technology than the router. Also, the signal drops constantly with no apparent reason. I suggest you to buy a newer model.
