Wonderful ideas!
Wonderful ideas for cold winter evenings, bringing monkeys, hippos and many more animals to life. Whether you want to gift a dressed animal to a little loved one, or to keep for yourself, the knitting patterns are easy to read and explanations of knitting shorthand are also given. And then it's up to your imagination as to what colour the clothes are to be. This is also a very good "pick up - put down" book as nothing is too complicated that you need to donate hours to finishing any of the components once you've started. An ideal book for knitters who have accumulated half balls of wool!

Love this book. Definitely recommend
I love this pattern book and I definitely recommend to those who are familiar with knitting. I started knitting over a year ago and I was able to follow the patterns. Considering how many patterns are in this book, from the animals to the outfits its definitely good bang for your book. I don't think the explanations are confusing and were fairly easy to understand, even the soles of the shoe I was able to follow and I'd never done that sort of stitches before. I started with a fairly simple pattern, the bear and loved it. Already on another and I bought the farm toy book and have started George the Dog too.I did find 2.75mm needles too fiddly so I'm using 3mm while I get the hang of it. And I did have to weigh the pages down as the book would close but it was a very minor inconvenience, it wouldn't put me off buying again.

Fantastic patterns with easy to follow instructions
Prior to knitting Charlie the Chimp I had basic knitting skills. I now consider myself to be an intermediate knitter due to the wealth of information in this book such as written and photographic instructions showing how to do all the required stitches, invisible seaming, using markers and much more. The patterns use straight, circular and double pointed needles and there is a comprehensive list of abbreviations. The only disappointing thing is that Scheepjes (the cotton yarn used by the designer) has discontinued the dark denim look yarn, hence why Charlie’s shorts are knitted in plain blue. Despite this I am really pleased with the way he turned out and I recommend this book. I also have the Knitted Animal Friends book by this designer. I think the clothing in that publication is a little more challenging as there is a lot of lacework and fancy stitching on the clothing and shoes so if you are fairly inexperienced and unsure of which book to get first then I would definitely recommend starting with Wild Animal Friends.

Great knitting book, but some patterns for an experienced knitter.
Absolutely love this book! More for an experienced knitter. For some reason sometimes seem to lose concentration and have managed to knit different sized legs at times! Absolutely love the duck.😊
