Absolutely phenomenal "toy". read on.
Bought for our 8 year old at Christmas time. He is 10 now and still uses it! Unlike the mini helicopters at comparable price which are painful to master and enjoy, this glider is pure fun until the batteries run out. I'm a novice with planes so excuse my layman review:Very easy to learn (10-15 min) for a child. Sufficient power to takeoff on its own with minimal launching. You pretty much just need to hold it in the air and hit the throttle for it to take off. Don't expect sophisticated maneuvering however! Simple controls are used to provide thrust using two props. Pitch is fixed based on the amount of thrust; if you want to nose down just back off the thrust. Similarly using the directional control left/right will decrease thrust on one prop and the gilder will roll left/right due to the change in lift on one side. With sufficient space (1 acre or more) you can keep this glider moving for a while. The issue will be any wind gusts as they will adversely affect your lift and direction. This glider is so light that turning into wind will create immense lift and the glider will either rise too high or begin to change course altogether. When turning into wind you need to decrease or stop thrust as the glider will ride the wind. Again, 10-15 minutes and you will figure it out.Mastering landing is a fun exercise and with the right skill can be done reliably. When the glider does come down hard (quite often) its light body handles impact very well. The nose takes the brunt and does start to split (the fuselage is made from two pieces and the seam runs the length of the glider). This glider would have benefited from a solid nose-piece or maybe a cone on the nose however I'm sure this would have added unnecessary weight.I thought this glider was an incredible value and gave much more joy than other common flying machines typically marketed to kids. At somewhere around 40usd this has proven to be one of the best gifts for our son and I'm sure any inclined beginner would enjoy it as well.

Frustrating experience for everyone!!
Bought two of these, one for me and a friend. Both did not work correctly even with adjustments. One plane had more power in one motor than another and would crash after 5 seconds of flight no matter what as it would just bank to the left since both motors are connected to the same control, even after adjusting trim all the way to the other side.. The other plane would lose signal randomly and would usually end up stuck on a roof or tree until it lost reception and ended up on top of a roof I could not get it down from.Very frustrating experience and waste of your money. Two different problems, two different planes. I'm pretty sure that the lack of quality control produced planes that do not fly.

like a football field) it is alot of fun
Very durable little plane. I have definatley crashed it more than I have kept it in the air and it holds up. The controls are somewhat simple but limited. you need alot of space and if there is any wind, I would wait. With the simple controls and impact of the wind, of will go far off course and you will not be able to do a whole lot. Otherwise when conditions are right (low wind and lots of space.. like a football field) it is alot of fun. The wings are will come off and can be placed back on without alot of trouble. I put duct tape on it to hold the wings on during a crash (which I did alot). The battery run time seems good, but I havent kept it in flight long enough to run it out. But not surprised if it meets the advertised time or longer.

Say's it's virtually indestructible, not so. My 15 year old son broke it within the first 10 minutes. Now he's scouring all of his old legos and rc helicopters for propellers. I mean, it's kept the kid busy but mostly because he's gluing it back together most of the time.

As close to perfect as one should expect for its price.
I have tried, unsuccessfully, to fly R/C airplanes over the years. Though I am surely, partly at fault, I have never had a plane fly or last more than a few minutes before giving up or destroying it.The Dromida, chosen by my 9 year old, inspired little confidence. And yet... He was able to fly it straight out of the box and bring it in for a respectable crash landing (no gear). My 16 year old also flew it like a champ. Finally I got my try and managed a series of large figure-8s as well as a few completely accidental intentional buzzes near my older son. I don't remember how long it flew for, but it *seemed* 10 minutes plus.Now... it's currently busted... but that sometimes happens when you fly perpendicular into asphalt at full throttle from 50 feet up. I wouldn't expect anything to survive that sort of mishap.Flying notes (with the understanding that I am a terrible, terrible R/C pilot)- If you can feel a breeze, just give up. *Any* breeze? Put it aside. Control will be extraordinarily difficult.- This is a motorized glider. At higher altitudes, lay off the throttle except to turn. It glides beautifully and you'll get a lot more flight time.- Assuming there's no wind, you can easily fly with total control between 4-12 feet of altitude at half-throttle. Doing so takes more skill than wildly and repeatedly needing to recover at 50 feet because you're at full throttle. It also dramatically increases your flight time. Last, you are less likely to watch your youngest kid turn the Dromida into the RC version of the Japanese Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka. One last point about wind to hammer it home... If there's even the *slightest* breeze you better be a far more experienced RC pilot than me or my kids. Expect to crash early and often and to quickly find yourself posting a one star review on Amazon.

Good luck!
Will not fly straight!! Had 4 different pilots. One off them having advanced experience in flying model planes. No matter what we tried or what we did it wouldn't fly straight. Other than that it's not a bad little plane.
