how well would this work sanding out a previously textured ceiling?

The best way to remove textured ceilings is to wet the ceiling with a paint roller. Wait a minute, then scrape the ceiling off. Use a sponge to finish the job. I've seen many people try to sand the ceiling off and it is not only a mess but a lot of work. I can remove a complete 12' by 12' ceiling in about a half hour. Caveat: if the ceiling has been painted it complicates the process. You have to lightly sand the area to break the paint coating before wetting.

We have only used ours on drywall, but saw some reviews that mentioned they had used it on wood. We plan on trying it out on a small hidden space in our living room
