Q: all pictures shown are with rope. can 1/4" wire be used with this trolley?

I would not use 1/4". To be consistent with ACCT standards, I would recommend 3/8" Cable over 1/4".

Q: Is this trolley be good on a Amstel blue rope 5/16 to be used for a high line(zip line) for trail work?

I only used it with 5/16" SS cable

Q: Is this trolley detachable after use or would you need to take your cable down to take it off? Thanks

depending on the width of your cable, you should be able to remove it without taking down the cable. There is a gap between the 2 sides where you attach the rope to the bottom of the trolley. I can slip mine over a 3/8th's cable with no problem.
