Does anyone's wide size shoe actually say Wide on the shoe? Mine only says wide on the box

From my experience Adidas uses a different item number for the regular versus the wide. For example I have Adidas Traxion spikeless and item number EE9206 is regular width and EE9202 is wide. I have the wide and the tag on the shoe does NOT have a "W" but does have the EE9202 number. So check the box and the shoes and see if the item number matches. Also Adidas tends to run a bit narrow, so it's understandable to think they put the wrong shoe in the box!

Are these spikes on the bottom of the cleat removable?

Yes they are but depending on how old they are they my have an older style of spikes . Their are at least two that I know of . I recommend removing one first to know which you we’ll need .

In retail outlets these are listed as "w" is that the same as EE?

For men, EE is considered a wide shoe, but for women it is extra-wide. So, yes, Wide and EE or the same.
