Perfect and Update
Received item quickly, packed in a long cardboard tube. New item, as described. The plastic handle is approx. 14 1/2 inches long, the actual brush part approx. 12 inches long. UNLIKE the other reviewer, I am 125 pounds, have an approximately 12 inch wide back and it works perfect. Even if you're a linebacker, with a 30 inch across back, all you do is MOVE the brush across your back...like you would with a washcloth! And if have less than a 12 inch across back, say if you're 8, just MOVE it back and forth. So what if it 'hangs' off the sides of your back. This isn't a custom made brush. It's one size fits all. If you need to, to get more comfortable, hold the handle midway or near the 'brushy' part to get more control. No one says you have to hold it only by the end/tip of the handle. DUH.The bristles are firm enough to make you feel clean, but not hard enough to scrape the skin off your back. When you pull it out of the boxand feel the bristles with your hand, you may think they are too soft. Don't be fooled. The skin on our hands is tougher than our backs. Believe me, it will feel firmer on your more tender back.It absolutely reaches your feet and will clean them, but in all honesty if you're looking for something to scrub really hard calloused feet, you may be better going with a pumice stone on a handle. However, this brush WILL clean your feet if you can't 'bend' to reach them. The brush 'soaps up' well, and moves the soap around nicely. The brush part is fluffy with bristles. The wire they are attached to looks to be poly coated white...not just painted white. The plastic handle is lightweight, but not 'brittle', nor is it bendable. There is a pretty good sized hole in the end to run a piece of cord through to hang the brush. Or, you could just hang in on a hook. All in all, a good quality brush, made in the U.S.A.UPDATE: Going on over 2 years now, and this brush is still going strong. No rust 'drips', the 'coating' is not tearing, and the bristles are still like new.As I mentioned in one comment, I am HOPING that the quality is still there, and there's been no 'cost cutting', resulting in a piece of junk.Having said that, I am STILL keeping the faith that it's the same quality as it was a couple of years ago, and I really LOVE this brush. I have faith! LoL :)The ONLY negative, and it's not really a negative is that my daughter said she thought it was a long toilet brush! Huh?!?I told her the toilet this would clean would have to have a bowl 2 feet tall, and I wouldn't be hanging the brush on the shower wall! LOL

INCREDIBLY POOR DESIGN
I am currently using a 40 year old Fuller Back Brush. I bought this one thinking it would be a suitable replacement. I was SO WRONG!!! First off, my old brush is only about 12 1/2 inches long; 6 1/2 inches of brush and a 6 is plastic handle. The WHOLE brush from the head of the brush to the end of the handle is gently curved in 1 direction, so when I use it on my back, it curves into my back, not away from it, and does a wonderful job on my whole back. The problem is that it is too short for my husband to use. He doesn't have the flexibility in his arms to reach behind himself and work the brush up and down or side to side to wash his whole back. This newly designed brush has a longer handle that is as straight as an arrow and narrow with hard corners - very uncomfortable to hold. The brush is also longer, but comes off the handle first curving in one direction, then switches to the opposite direction. No matter how you hold the brush handle, close to the bristles or at the end farthest away from the bristles, it is impossible to get all the bristles to make contact with your back at the same time and just about as bad to get contact with only half the bristles, first turning the brush one way to get the top of the back (or lower back if you prefer to reach over your shoulder) then turning it the other way around to try for the lower back. No matter which way you prefer to get to your back, it going to involve a lot of contortions and turning it one way and then the other. Personally, I prefer to enjoy my shower / bath, not to look upon it as a chore and a fight with my back brush. If the brush had been a equal replacement, I would have put up with the high price paid and looked forward to using it. As it is, I've returned this totally unacceptable brush and will continue to use my 40 year old Fuller brush, thankful that it was well made and still serves its' purpose. I will also continue to look for a brush that my hubby can use.

Good reach
A good reach for those with limited mobility. But not as sturdy as they once were made. I don’t know why. I want to love this brush but it just isn’t what I remember a few years ago.

Perfect for cleaning my feet
I have problems with my legs and cannot reach my feet. RA and sciatica. I remember as a girl when the fuller brush man came to the house. My sister and I loved it and loved the free gifts, too. Now to see an item from fuller brush sold me on this item. When I got it, I had no idea how I’d like it. The brush has somewhat of a “u” shape and fits over my heel to scrub the dead skin on my heel. It is open enough that I can fit the bristles between my toes. I have control of it and that is a plus. I can even use it on my legs and do. My skin has become very dry and scaly. It works well since I’m sitting down. I’m not sure it would work if I were standing. I got another product that has bristles and is like a shoe. This is so much better that I never use the shoes for cleaning my feet.

works best used gently
been struggling for a long time because I cannot reach my feet and toes to wash. bought this brush and started using it but discovered it works best if used gently and slowly. feet and toes came out clean and soft. a little pricey but I decided it was worth it.

This is the 3rd time in several years that I've repurchased this brush! I like everything about it.
Most brushes have the bristles embedded in a big wooden block. This Fuller Brush embeds the bristles in a wire armature. That makes it much lighter in weight and easier to manipulate. It also has a solid, easy-to-grip handle that allows you to apply as much pressure as needed without fear of it breaking. I hope they never discontinue this brush, because I'll never discontinue buying it. ;-)
