Can you use regular nail polish or do you have to use a special kind?

I tested my regular polishes. Wet N Wild polish worked with some of the designs but OPI and Essie nail polishes worked great with all the designs from this plates. I am satisfied with the results.

Can you use gel polish?

They make special gel polish for stamping.

Can you use any nail polish?

Yes, I often use polishes I get from the dollar tree, and .99 only stores. I suggest that you test them first for opacity, some show well only over white and very light colors, others will work over darker ones. But I will say you can't go wrong with a Black and a White( believe it or not those two colors are what I use the most). Once you are more comfortable with stamping you can get specialty polish. I got great clearance sets at bundle monster, and born pretty store when they discontinued lines and colors to make room for their new and improved versions.
