SUNGOLDPOWER 6000W 48Vdc Hybrid Solar Inverter Input 240V Output 120/240V Split Phase Pure Sine Wave Inverter MPPT 120A Solar Charger and 120A AC Charger Batteryless BluePower TP6048

I recently purchased 2 of these TP6048 6000W inverters to replace and older Schneider Electric grid-tie system. I choose these specific inverters because of the great price and that they can stand alone (with or without battery) or be grid-tied. The price/value totally beat all the other inverters I was researching and most of the cheaper alternatives in this power range do not tie into the grid.Ease of use: This unit is as close to plug and play that you can get. L1, L2, neutral, and ground for each of the “power in (grid)” and the “load out (house main)”. 1 solar connection, 1 battery connection, a set of serial connectors (supplied) and power sharing connectors (supplied), and you are done with hardware! BTW, the serial and power sharing are just needed if you are connecting multiple units together. Note that a single unit supplies 240V native, no setup issues.All the rest of the install is setting up the various settings for batteries, load output, charging, etc. The instructions that came with the units are very straight forward and covered every setup option I needed. The instructions were easy to read and use. I did not connect via the computer-serial connection, but rather went straight to wi-fi. If you have ever setup a smart plug or switch – this is the same procedure. It is also very easy to setup the software via the panel on each unit.The app is not as polished as I would like, but I suspect that it will clean up over time. And the app does work – I can see my units and change setting from anywhere my phone has internet!I reached out to customer support to clarify a few app related questions, and received a clear response within a day.I’ve been running these 2 units for a week and love them. I run my well pump, mini-splits, and the rest of the house on them. I have already ordered a 3rd unit to run in parallel so that I can add my next solar string into the system and up my house power to 18,000 watts.Last note, the listing shows the wrong unit weight - these weigh about 75 pounds each. Much lighter than my last system :)

I liked the 450V solar voltage input range, quality connectors, and that unit was well packaged for shipping...that's it. I am a EE. The unit I received caused awful output glitching(spikes and zero crossing issues with solar input causing my EV charge adapters (all of them) to error and stop charging due to unstable voltage(glitches). Also lights flickered including incandescent lights. This happens as the battery is over 80% charged and the solar mppt controller becomes less loaded. Unit has no output glitching with solar disconnected and running only on battery. It is a common problem that SGP is well aware of, look it up in searches as to how people are trying to dump thier "past return window" units. Very poor system integration.Power hungry no load quiescent consumption. No real effort in design to lower this which can be done simply using a toroidal transformer and employing better and simple obvious firmware management. The transformer used is a cheap EI type not toroidal or even rectangle with heavy duty wire. Very budget to save cost...This unit is not ready for prime time. Useless.Tech support was friendly, but not helpful at all. Wifi never worked right and was so laggy when it did receive a status that it is unuseable, even right next to new router. They sent me PV capacitors, via slow first class mail, to put across the solar input to reduce flicker....nope... made ZERO difference, just wasted my time as my return window neared closing.I returned it and it was just a massive frustrating hassle.A very bad and trust breaking experience. I have since went with Ampinvt 6000W Solar Hybrid inverter. Much better rock solid basic solar hybrid inverter, ...has less features(that don't work well anyway with SGP's unit) and the typical 150V solar input range, but a massive quality torodial transformer and super low quiescent current consumption, and no glitches with solar input at any charge state....works as it should.

Purchased a TP6048 SungoldPower Inverter for the purpose of powering a 240V 3hp water well pump and providing power to my shop. This unit seems to be a perfect fit for my needs as this pump draws 4000 watts on start-up. This is what the TP6048 is built for and it does deliver. Needed a little help and guidance from the support team and Sunny and the engineers were very helpful and courtious. Response time was swift and their willingness to help out was very much appreciated.Have plans to build out the system and will add another SungoldPower Inverter in the future.Mark B
