Great reel for the price!
I have multiple Diawa reels, and they've all been great, and this one is no exception. For the price I don't think you will find a better reel. I purchased this to pair with a Dobyns Fury 735c for my frog setup and it has worked out great. The fast 8.1.1 gear ratio allows me to quickly turn a fish as well as retrieve my frog to make another cast faster. The breaking system is easy to adjust on the fly, without having to remove a side plate, and dial it in for different lures. I highly recommend the Diawa Fuego, especially as a less expensive alternative to the great Diawa Tatula line of reels (which I also own and love)

Great reel at $75, good reel for $100
Fist off I'm not going to get into casting distance in this review because there are too many variables such as rod, line material and weight, type and weight of the bait, and so on. I will say it cast well and is smooth and solid for a reel at this price point. My only complaint is not the most ergonomic, but that's a personal thing for me If you have medium/large hands probably not going to be an issue. Obviously it's not that big of an issue for me I own 3, but I use them on techniques not requiring working the bait so they're on my crankbait and Texas rig rods.Pros:Mag Force Z arguably the best braking system on the market today well at least the most liner, feel is solid, fit and finish is good. Basically a Tatula CT without the T-wing, Value (if you can get it on Amazon for under $80)Cons:Not much, as mentioned earlier not the most ergo reel, feels chunky (I'm pretty sure it's shares the same frame as the Tatula CT which I also own an it also feels chunky to me)

Great reel
Very high quality, throws lures of all sizes well without spooling but still getting a full cast

Amazing
So long story short, I tried to save money and went the cheap route using Chinese knock off reels. After giving three reels a chance and all didn’t meet expectations I decided to go with Daiwa. First impressions, it is a solid reel made for some water abuse. I took it out fishing the surf and a couple waves soaked it, then when I took it out later and while putting a flounder on a stringer I accidentally dropped it. Cleaned it with fresh water and oiled it and took it out 2 days later and everything worked flawlessly. It’s a little on the heavy side, and doesn’t fit in my palm like I would love, but for a reel, I have faith in it working day in and day out is priceless after using cheap reels in the past. It reminds me of the AK47 of the “reel world”. Pun intended

Versatile
This is an absolute beast of a reel. I have 3 and each one is used for a different purpose. Preforms great from pitching to the new craze of glide baits.

Your first reel!
This is a great reel. My favorite thing about it is the ease of use, thanks to MagForce Brakes. I can hand this reel to a beginner and let them figure out the brakes and they can catch fish. I can use this reel with no thumb and not bird nest! I have put this reel through the test and still casts a mile and is very durable. Drag works great. Would recommend this to be anyone’s first baitcaster. I didn’t like the TWing so this is a great choice!! Casts like some of the higher end reels.

Worst baitcaster ive owned.
I read all the great reviews, and bought this anyway, even though I was suspicious it was too good to be true at a price point this low.Well, after a couple of months trying to get this real to work properly, I give up.This is a backlashing beast. Doesnt matter the setting. You can activate the magnets all the way and tighten the knob down to the point the lure wont even drop on release. It will still backlash like crazy using braid.Compared to my Lews LFS.... the difference is crazy. I can barely get my Lews to backlash even if I set it absurdly loose. With the reel, I just spend every day, 90% of the time, dealing with backlash instead of fishing.Maybe I got a bad one, but this thing is garbage. The gears are also loud when you reel in. My other baitcasters are silent. This thing is CRUNCHY sounding. Seen lots of complaints about this on the internet.Strong do no recommend. Spent a little more and get a quality baitcaster. Going back to me Lews which only cost a tiny bit more and is proven. I can skip cast without constant backlashes with my lews. This real literally backlashes on almost every skip no matter what setting ive tried. I ruined a $100+ worth of line screwing around with this reel already. Im done.
