Audio-Technica ATH-LS400iS In-Ear Quad Armature Driver Headphones with In-Line Mic & Control

Wonderful IEMs. One word to describe them is "balanced". Lows are well defined with two dedicated drivers, one mid and one high covers the full range of any song. Since two balanced drivers cover low frequencies any song with a dominant low end will sound deep, slightly overpowering the mids and highs. They are there but not as pronounced. Listening to balanced music gives best representation of what these can do (Joan Armatrading’s Willow). Wonderful, full, well balanced details. Isolation is fantastic with good tips when you find some that fit your ear well. The tips that came with these IEMs where minimal at best. Three pair. One small, medium, large and large were too small for me. I picked up some XLarge silicone tips and isolation is great.Read MajorHifi’s review of these IEMs for a good idea of what these represent for sound quality and value. I have some very good headphones and IEMs and these are top shelf in comparison. Wonderful.

These earphones sound really good. Very crisp and clear. They also can go nice a loud which is refreshing.However - seeing as how 99.99% of the music I listen too (downtempo, psychill, psy-ambient, house) is based around the lows, these earphones lack the ability to push sustained deep bass. I am not too sure at what frequency they cut out on but for comparison, my Sony (WI1000X/B) earphones rock the lows, they just don't go loud enough.If I listened to 'normal people' music, these LS400iS would sound great but I need the lows to fully enjoy the range of music that makes up psychill.I also used them for a phone call and both me, and the person on the other line thought the other person was in a bathroom with a very loud fart-fan. This will not do for me as I make 50+ calls a day for work and I need both hands free while on the phone.Sorry Audio-Technica but, I will be returning these earphones. Figure out a way to PUSH the lows and I will purchase those.

These are an absolute joke and disgrace for the price. They sound terrible. The clarity in the mids and highs is almost non existant. The base is muddy. I do not recommend these to anyone regardless of the price.

Fine sound best inear headphones I have ever usedHeadphone material quality very good.I would recommend changing the headphone supplied foams to a better quality supplier though.

They have muffled sound , if you like this type of earphones, buy them
