It it us, the adults, who enforce/impose those ideas or preconceived notions that toys or colors have genders. My oldest boy loves rainbows and cats and kirby (a pink videogame character). My youngest boy broke his leg a couple of weeks ago and guess which color he picked for his cast? Pink! And I am so proud of him and all the health professionals who did not blink and just did their jobs. Go ahead and make your rainbow-loving-grandkid happy! I have the dinosaur set and my boys have not let go of it ever since I gave it to them. Their favorite part? The dino babies inside! Let kids be kids. Society will get its way with them eventually. :)
