Q: am I cray cray or is there a glass break at the bottom that nobody is talking about?

There is a glass breaker. Nothing fancy about it, it works though. Tested it at an auto junk yard.

Q: Does Gerber provide free lifetime sharpening?

If I remember on certain products they do. Had a hinderer that needed professional sharpening after 2 years and they accepted it. Just fill out the paperwork and send it in.
