Q: Is this one bag or two?

I have ordered this product 11 times since November, 2016. It was always 2 bags of 4.4 lbs each for approximately $30 when shipped from and sold by Amazon. I just ordered it Friday, Jan 3, 2020 and received it today and it was 1 bag of 4.4 lbs for $30 and shipped from and sold by Amazon. They effectively doubled the price and it is no longer worth it.

Q: How much rice do you receive from this order? 2 pack of 4.4 pounds (total 8.8 pounds)?

I had this on subscription and it was a pack of 2, but on my latest order in November 2019, the listing is no longer for a 2 pack and I only received a single unit. The price has remained the same, so for 1 bag you're paying double.

Q: can this rice be used to make sushij?

You can, and I've had a... but despite the fact that I love brown rice (I eat it as a breakfast "hot cereal 4 days per week, I dislike the taste of it in sushi The" Al Dente" texture and nutty taste are a real turn-off to me in sushi. I really prefer short grain while rice for that. But... I have a dry cup in my rice cooker on a timer as I post tonight, ready for our breakfast at 0810 hours tomorrow.

Q: Does anyone know how to find the best buy date on this? I only ask bc i received mine last week, opened it today, and it smells somewhat rancid

That's too bad. Brown rice is very susceptible to that. Bad storage can also spoil it despite of a valid expiry date. But this particular rice could improve once it's cooked. Had that happen before. Good luck!
