Well, it has proximity sensors - whenever your fingertips come close to the top half of the PokéBall, the button in the middle glows, the closer you reach for the PokéBall, the brighter it glows (and it’s REALLY bright when you lay your hand on it).The base that holds the PokéBall has a touch pad (it is a sticker that has ‘Pokémon’ and ‘Poké Ball’ written on it, check the pictures I’ve included, it’s hard to miss), the touch pad switches the light of the base so you can choose between 7 vibrant and bright colors (again, check the pictures I’ve included).Also if you do not want to display it in the base with the lights, and want a more classy display for your PokéBall, it comes with a ring* that you put on top of the base (it has a special spot for the ring so it does not move at all), and you can put the PokéBall on top of the ring (check pictures).It’s probably the most unique Pokémon collectors’ item I’ve ever owned in my entire life.*The ring is located in the batteries’ holder at the bottom of the base, a Phillips screwdriver is required to open the batteries cover.Also, it comes with the batteries already installed so you don’t have to worry about it! I love the weight and interactivity of this collectable pokeball! The box has neat lighting options, but I prefer a lower visual profile, so it can be kept in place without the box by resting on a provided ring. It doesn’t open, but it’s otherwise the perfect pokeball display in my book!

Definitely a quality model. The lights and box are awesome and the ball itself feels hefty and is made of solid metal. The lighting effects are really impressive, and the gold and silver trims are super shiny. It’s a bit pricey, for just one, and collecting the whole set would definitely add up quickly, but it definitely is a premium feeling replica that as a long time fan does not disappoint.

The ball itself is a great product, heavy, fun to toss to yourself, and easy to poke at. The finish on the ball is durable and hasn't scuffed or faded with my fidgeting and tossing across the day. Just reaching for it and watching it light up can be amusing, same as tossing the ball up and down and letting the proximity sensor work. All around the ball is exactly what I wanted for a fun little desk ornament that lets the nostalgia loose. Then comes the case.The case is a bit strange to set up the controls and adjust the lighting. It feels very cheap compared to the actual ball. The mechanism doesn't lock as well as I would wish and the lighting is poorly diffused. I know its not the centerpiece of the product, but a better hinge and some translucent plastic on the LEDs would have gone a long way here.That said, I put it on my work desk and at least 3 or 4 people have since ordered different versions of the same thing for their own work, so its likely just a nitpick.
