Great as a gift or to keep for yourself
I bought this as a gift my "hipster" family member that likes to travel but is hard to shop for, and I would highly recommend. It looks really nice, and the content is interesting and well-laid out for browsing. I have been to a couple of the places in the book, and it seems like they definitely fulfill their promise of places that are off the beaten path. The photos are beautiful, so you'll definitely want to show it off on your coffee table.

What a delightful read.
I am just able to get to this, now that I am on lockdown. And I am a sucker for all things "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" - ish. This book didn't disappoint. The blurbs are short and snappy, which I like. I am not fond of the organization of the book, but I can work around it. The best thing? I have found that I have been to several of the entries in the book!! Now to make a database of it so I can reference the items when I plan my travels.

Interesting on so many levels.
I don't know how any other book can beat the variety of interesting places in this book. This is not a major tourist site kind of book - there are plenty of those.

Marvels of the World Indeed!
You would not believe all of the places in this book! This is quite a read. I continue to be wowed by it every time I pick it up. There's tons of places I have never even heard of. The facts about them blow me away! You really should buy this book!

Organized strangely
They layout/organization of the book is strange. To me it would work better if it was laid out alphabetically instead of regionally. It's hard to find what you're looking for easily. The info is good though.

Need improvement
Really interesting book, I'm glad I have it in my collection. But the only thing is that the index should be by country so it would be easy for travelers. The way that is right now is by city but if I don't know of the existance of a place how am I supposed to look for it????

Best gift!
I bought this gift for my dad, and as soon as he opened it he was thrilled. He actually went and read through it throughout Christmas and claimed it as a favorite. My dad would randomly spout off facts about obscure places throughout our holiday weekend.

My grandma liked it
My grandma really liked it. She can't travel anymore but loves places and history. I liked it too.
