Hi Andrea, I have had this tank since December and pretty sure bottom is glass. I have lots of gravel, pebbles and small rocks in mine and whatever the base is this has been fine. stood staright on window-sill without any other layer under tank. BW, Micaela

Hi.. you get everything with this Tank apart from the gravel and fish. There isn't difference to tropical... lighting. You get filters, lights and Heater and condensation tray. Plus the water conditioner and filter starter.
