Love it!
The media could not be loaded. Does exactly what it says- peels potatoes (and other things). Very useful for people like me who have painful wrists and struggle too peel. Also faster and easier for people who otherwise could peel. It can even be used one handed. Can cope with most shapes and sizes. Sometimes misses some bits or struggles with awkward shapes but going over the area a second time usually gets it done.Sometimes a little bit of peel will get stuck in the blade and you need to pull it out for it to peel again. The top and bottom don't get done completely but you can either put them in the other way or just slice off the un-peeled parts. When you press the red button at the back the bottom spikes start to rotate and the bladed part starts to slowly fall down. When the bladed part reaches the bottom it presses the button and stops the rotating spikes. Occasionally it doesn't press well so you just have to lift the bladed part and press the button yourself.Easy to clean with a sponge or brush. The blade part is removable which helps and the spikes and body are easy to give a quick wipe or scrub. The whole thing apart from the blade is plastic. The arms and spikes are painted to look like metal but definitely aren't. It still works perfectly well though.Works on almost every fruit and veg we've tried so far including large potatoes, small potatoes, apples, pears and even some small beets. Grapes are just too small. I'm pretty sure anything bigger than a cherry tomato would be fine. Not great for things like oranges because the skin is thick enough to need multiple peels to get through it and the orange inside is too soft to hold together with the spikes so after the first go the spikes just make a hole and can't hold it anymore. We've had ours for almost two years now with somewhat regular use and haven't had any issues or even needed to change the blade. It comes with two spare blades that sit in a compartment under the base. Also comes with a pointed bit of plastic that sits under the base. You can use it for removing bits like sprouts from the potatoes. It does have a battery compartment but we've never tried it battery powered. It's a little bit noisy, but otherwise amazing. One of my favourite kitchen gadgets. Such a simple thing but it makes such a big difference to me.Maybe not necessary for a lot of people but for anybody who struggles with peeling or finds it just takes a bit too much time and effort I would absolutely suggest it!You could even use it to spiralise things.

Works for a while.
The electric peeler started off very well on potatoes, although not on carrots. It didn't work on new potatoes, regardless of size, but was handy for mid to large ones during the winter. After a while, it stopped working. I contacted the seller, who asked me to take photos of it, which I did. While I was moving it about, it suddenly started working again, albeit rather slowly most of the time. I informed the seller, asking him to keep a note that the peeler was obviously faulty. Again it stopped working; I told the seller that, although I was using the mains electricity, it acted as though it was on batteries, and the batteries were running down.He then said that I should use batteries in it and left it at that. It uses 3AAA batteries. I didn't buy it to use on batteries, even if it did then work, about which I have my doubts. I would not buy anything else from this seller.

Just what I wanted
I've recently lost sensation and dexterity in my hands so was looking for a gadget to peel fruits and potatoes so that I can continue cooking fresh and home made food. This product works really well most of the time with little effort from me. However, I do find the lever with the spike to go onto the end of the fruit stiff and difficult to adjust for height. It is well designed overall and I would recommend it for regular home use.

Wonderful little item.
I was quite dubious about buying this, and once taken out of the box, my confidence did not soar. It really doesn't look like much. But it does work. True a young healthy person could probably peel a potato faster by hand , especially if they spend a lot of time cooking and are used to the task. But this is so simple to operate that even children can safely operate it with a bit of supervision, and it is a real God send for people with arthritis or disabilities affecting their hands. It couldn't be simpler. You place a potato on the the prongs at the bottom of the holder, move the arm up and press the button. The potato spins around and a thin peel is cut off, leaving a small bit top and bottom that must be cut with a knife. The whole process takes less than a minute. This may seem like a long time but even with two large potatoes per person, you could make enough for a family of 6 in perhaps 10 minutes. For anything more than that I would suggest a larger, but ultimately much more expensive model. This was easy to set up, takes up relatively little kitchen real estate, and is fast and easy to clean. It included spare blades which were a real bonus. I would not have purchased this item if it had not been a warehouse deal, but having had this, I wouldn't be without it and would certainly buy again if needed. It makes life that little bit easier and I am delighted that there is so little waste as well. Peeling by hand would almost certainly result in more useable food being cut away.I have only used this for potatoes and apples. It does very well with both but I honestly can't say for any other fruit or vegetable. Sadly it only has one thickness, cutting away just the smallest layer of peel. Thus it can not be used to make curly fries. More's the pity. Perhaps someday the company will make a model with interchangeable cutting tools, but as it stands it does exactly what it says on the box, and does it very well.
