Disney's The Santa Clause [DVD] [1995]

I am approaching 80 and have always enjoyed Christmas in all is aspects and have collected all the Christmas movies and The Santa Clause is my favourite fantasy one because its still refreshing every time I watch it, its hard to believe its 28 years old in 2023, and never looks out of date for me, its an original approach to the age old magic of Santa.In these uncertain times when so many are suffering because of mans inhumanity to man, also to the planet we need a bit of escapism where we can experience the childlike innocence of our past once again. Also kids can enjoy it of courseIts so well acted and produced and directed,not a dull moment ,its amusing all the way through and very funny at timesThe North pole was very well done,as was the reindeer , the costumes ,the special effects were before their time. no expense was spared it seems.I also watched the following 2 movies and I didnt like them as much as the original ,they lost the whole feeling that the original movie had for me. Followup movies rarely compete or improve on the originalI have just ordered my third copy of this beautiful movie as the others wore out or got damaged.. !Merry Christmas to kids of all ages. !

This is a great Christmas movie.I feel that there aren't as many good traditional Christmas movies as people think, so when new ones are made they often try to venture out a little. (e.g. The Polar Express; the mechanical-ness of the North Pole just didn't work for me.)But I like traditionally festive Christmas movies with work shops, pretty elves and fat Santa Claus.And even though a portion of this movie takes place out of the festive season it is still very very Christmassy! Just the way I like it. And yet it still keeps original story and characters.Tim Allen looks just as Santa should in the end. :)The movie has everything I like and even manages to draw a tear.Definitely watch this movie!!

I bought this film as my son who is two and a half is sooo obsessed with Father Christmas he is glued to this and it's a fab Christmas film for kids, I've ad to watch this most days in June most days July August ha ha it's not even Christmas yet ha ha . Arrived in good time and well packaged. Good price. Cheaper than others that were viewed prior to purchase. Bought as a stocking filler for Christmas so cannot comment on condition if disc at this time

This is by far my best Christmas movie...I love the sarcastic comments that Tim Allen makes in the film especially with his ex and her partner...!!!I would recommend this film and it is suitable for all ages as adults will appreciate the humour as well as the kids.If this review was helpful to you, please hit the 'helpful' button.
