Not enough of a distraction
My daughter was delighted to receive this but the interest waned quickly as there is little that can be done with this as a toy. The projection of stars is not bright enough the pig etc seem superfluous. They should really be able to attach them in some way to the boat. The doll is nice and has been played with more. Well made though, the quality can take a few knocks.

Will delight children, although the price is a little steep
This Moana doll and canoe set is likely to thrill any young fan of the film. It comes with Moana herself (not a great likeness to the character but close enough for kids I suppose) plus models of her pet pig Pau and the wonderful chicken Hei Hei. There's also the canoe itself, which requires only minor assembly, complete with fabric sail, hidden wheels so it can 'sail' along the ground smoothly and a battery operated light in the prow which can be pointed up or down. Great to have so many items in one set, although as with so many Disney toys, it's rather expensive for what it is.

I gave this toy to my 6 year old niece for Christmas and she loved it (I asked her at the end of the day to rate it out of 5 and she said 4-hence 4 stars). the box is quite large and it didn't take too long to put the boat together, which has odd wheels so when you push it along it looks like its on the waves. the Moana figure is nice and its refreshing to not have a stick thin figure. it takes batteries for the star lights which you can shine on the floor or upwards at the turn of a dial, the stars only really look good when the room is dark. we did thing the light stays on and we would have to take the batteries out but after 10 minutes we noticed it had automatically switched off so that was good.Its fairly expensive but if your child loved the film they will love this as well.
