YES they run small. I hope this helps:I bought the medium size a year ago, and they held up better than expected for the price. Being a college student with no time and few quarters with which to wash separates, I would throw them in with zippered jackets, velcro, boyfriend's rough jeans, whatever, and they are still wearable today and none of the colors bled or faded much, but now they are pilling a little around the edges. Some do have those weird little rubber strings coming off them here and there, but it's not a big deal for me. All the seams are still intact and they cover my butt when I want them to, so it's all good.When I bought the medium assorted pack, I received:2 white2 black2 nude/beige2 light pink2 red1 purple1 royal blueAnd measuring them just now, they have a 22" (relaxed) to aaalmost (stretching very tightly) 34" inch waist and relaxed 14" measured vertically along the middle seam, under and around the crotch. This is a year later, and I remember them fitting a little looser when I got them, but that's either because I gained weight or burned the heck out of them in the dryer. I don't know. My boyfriend assures me they must have shrunk in the wash.Now, the large pack I bought this week:I received2 white2 black2 red2 sunshine yellow2 purple1 hot pink1 royal blueand these have a 25" (totally relaxed) to aaalmost 40" stretch, with 16"inches from waistband to waistband along the middle seam and under the crotch. Is there a name for that measurement? I don't know.I'm 5'2" and around 115lbs and I'm 31" where I wear these, and I definitely like the fit of the large better. The medium is tight, more like a thong's fit and they rode up sometimes. No problem yet with the larges.Also, yes, they are nice and soft coming out of the bag and seem to stay that way. On all of mine, the crotch liner is a skinny ellipse that's stitched all around and is also soft and doesn't bunch up.The lace is shiny here and there, and the edges are scalloped all around which is surprisingly pretty. My man especially likes this cute lacy half-cheek coverage I get in the back, even better than my nicer and more expensive lingerie panties. (Besides, it's great having almost two months' worth of panties! Don't have to do laundry so frequently. And these are so cheap! All the other panties I see/bought are like, $6 or $7 each. Ridiculous!)

Arrived on time..perfect material.i did get an XL because i was reading reviews stating they run a little small & i thank EVERYONE for that.they fit perfect. no complains everything is perfect.I DO recommend this product.&&; what i LOVE about it, the white panties came in its own bag but the same bag. not a fan of anythingwhite. so that will stay perfectly wrapped in the bottom of my draw. dont have to worry about it getting ruinedor pushed to the back of the draw getting snagged on the lip of the draw you know..love them (: MIND you i do wear thongs ALOT and trying to get in the habit of throwing those outand i can comfortably wear these no problem in jeans. yoga pants and that stuff i wont because of thepantie line. not saying they do.. but go figure there will prolly be a paint line.***Update!!!***i didn't see when i wrote ^ this review last but i'm pretty sure its been a month or so? its 9/27/14..i LOVE LOVE these.. ZERO pantie line in my yoga pants and stuff witch I LOVE. because nothing i hate more then pantie lines..very very comfy.. i pick these over my thongs. and i've been wearing thongs for about 6-7 years.. haven't worn a thong sincei've had these... I LOVE THESE.. i'm about to buy them again actually. :D i DO NOT put these in the dryer. im afraid they willget ruined. BUT a pair did get mixed up in some clothes and it did go threw the dryer. didn't ruin it, but i think i just got lucky.!update.Hate these. The fabric gets caught on my nails. And pulls little strings. These have been sitting in my drawer un touched. For get about wearing jeans with these. The fabric gets caught up on the but of your jeans and when you pull ya pants down to pee, ya panties get all caught up and start getting ripped up. This ^ started maybe after 3-5 washes.

Not the most comfortable, and does ride up in both the front and back due to the seam location. If you do not mind the look of them riding up in front, (As not shown in any of the advertised pictures) they're fine. But if you do, I'd suggest finding ones with seams on the sides, because it is very noticeable in any color other than black. I personally loved the price, and am willing to deal with it.The colors are not bad. I got two black, two white, two purple, two red, one pink, one blue, and two yellow. The yellow is terrible, of course, but what yellow isn't when it comes to ladies underwear? I love the look, except for what I mentioned above. These cover all that needs to be covered while still coming off as sexy. They can also for the most part be used as regular underwear, especially under slacks or skirts where panty lines are frowned upon. I cannot count how many times these have been a lifesaver for that very reason. Professional outing? Check.I will definitely be buying these again. They are cheap, but useful. I have found that you can both machine wash and dry them countless times, but they seem to fit more comfortably if you just wash them and allow them to air dry. I put them in with my everyday clothes, then when I transfer the clothes to the dryer, I just toss them on top of the washer, and they're more than dry by the time the load is done.

Very impressedwith these, good quality and good fit. Lovely colours. Bought these for holiday so I could leave them behind as they were cheap enough and I didnt want to have a load of dirty underwear to bring back home. Liked them too much so I brought them all back.
